1.34 ohms need help

im planning on getting a new amp. i have 3 rockford p3 slims. they are 400 rms a piece but the lowest i can run them to is a 1.34 ohm load. so how do i figure out exactly how many watts my amp will put out at a 1.34 ohm load? is there a math equation of some sort?

Just get one with some headroom and don't worry about.

your not going to get an exact wattage output, you should look for something that can do 1200-1500 RMS @ 1 ohm.

but i need 12-1300 watts rms. so it wouldnt make sence to get one that was 1200 watts at 1 ohm. but there is no way to figure this out?

it can be a crap shoot. an amp that does an actual 1600 watts @ 1 ohm should be fairly close. you could go with a JL slash or Phoenix gold that do rated watts at any ohm. i'm sure there are other amps with highly regulated power as well that may do that.

like how close? because with the amp im probably gonna get does 1600 at 1 ohm and 1100 at 2 ohms. so could i just set up a proportion and figure it out like that? 1.34 is 67% of 2. so if i subtract that from 100% that equals 33%. so all i have to do is find 33% of 1600 and i should get my answer right?

A proportion would give you a ballpark, but more than likely, not a perfect figure.

You are making thing's more complicated then it need's to be. You won't have any audible difference with that little amount of power. Just get a good amp that will do a true 1500rms at 1ohm and go with that.

You won't really have to worry about overpowering them. You have to realize you'll have impedance rise to factor in as well so chances are you'll be sitting a tad big higher then 1.34ohms which will bring your power down a little. If you really are afraid of overpowering them just keep the gain's down a little and don't ride around blasting the volume all the time. Most sub's can take a little additional power as long as you have a clean signal.
