1-2 OHM Load amp **Newb Question**

Im new to car stereo in general.

If i buy a kicker ZX 1500.1 which runs

1500wtts RMS X 2ohms

The sub would is (( dual 2 )) Fi BL

Would i be getting the whole 1500 watts compared to a mono amp that does

1500 X 1 ohm

the amp does 1500 watts x1 @ 2 ohms. so youd be getting the full amount of rated power out of the amp, theoretically speaking, at 2 ohm....but the amp isnt rated to be stable at a 1 ohm

you would need a sub that is a single 2 ohm voice coil, or a dual 4 ohm voice coil to get a final load of 2 ohms.

the reason for the sub change is your sub will have either a 4 ohm load, or a 1 ohm load depending on how you wire it.

D2 sub wont let that amp work to full potential, u need a D4 or D1 sub to work on that amp and see all 1500watts

Is there a certain way to hook up this certain amp to the sub. Like a diagram

you would have to wire that sub at 4ohm to the amp

edit: wire the coils in series

It is unstable at 1 ohm.

Get a sub that does 2 or 4 ohms.

To wire the sub to the amp to a 4 ohm load, you need to wire it in series.

You will only get 750 watts out of the amp if you do it that way, but that would be MUCH better than wiring the sub up to 1 ohm, causing the amp to go ka-poof.
