ima build some boxes for those pyramids i just bought, but as these have the super wide phat surround which aids in deeper bass down to 1.2khz, i was just wondering if .5'' mdf is thick enough for sub boxes in general. all i have is .5'' cause thats what i use on my home speakers.

hehe jk i tink that would be fine cuz those pyramids arent that heavy, nor will they move a lot. so yea i say cool but dont take my word for it

Deeper bass down to 1.2khz? Aren't you talking about subs? They usually don't play anything over 100hz, mine are crossed over at 80hz.

and alot of subwoofers have stated frequency responses like that its not just the pyramid

hey i'm serious, these things SLAM! maybe slam on the ground when i'm beating the shit out of them, but slam just the same. i can't wait to get 'em, ima abuse 'em so much. and when i feed them their alledged 500 watts rms, and they go out, i'll just call pyramid and tell them to send me new ones for false advertising.

Anyhoo, I really don't think you want to try playing up to 1khz. If they played up to 4khz you could just do subs -> tweeters and avoid midbass / mid drivers altogether. If you could get a complete 20-20k THAT would be interesting.
