OP
24hz actually makes it flat in winISD, 30hz has a god 2-3db bump from 30-50hz.I forgot all about those.. lol nice choice though
I would say tune it to 27.9 just so I don't have to agree with him fully //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Yea, yea...so tune to 30.1hz please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif24hz actually makes it flat in winISD, 30hz has a god 2-3db bump from 30-50hz.
haha... "hollow"? WTF does that even mean?? If all you have to offer is some ambiguous, subjective opinion, then just state that opinion and be done with the thread.Ok take this into consideration. Do you want a hollow bass sound or do you want a warm bass sound? Every AQ sub I have encountered is just like every DD sub I have heard. Hollow and just loud no real warmth or sound to it. Here is my question to you. Have you ever heard a IA product?
^^^ listen to this guy24hz actually makes it flat in winISD, 30hz has a god 2-3db bump from 30-50hz.
The AQ subs are mid/High Fs and high Qts, no real transience to them. DD goes the other way and tries to keep Qts low and the Fs a mid/Low Fs but this causes a missing bandwidth in the 35-50 Hz range depending on tuning. PhishHead seems to be familiar with a warm flat response associated with Low Fs Mid Q subs (which used to be the goal of all builders till the SPL wars started) and when the DD/AQ would be side by side compared to something as warm and ear friendly as the Mach 5 IXL 15.2 or Diamond Audio Hex Pro 12, they are lacking in one range or another, I believe that may be what he is referring to as hollow (missing key freq's across a musically important bandwidth.) There are lines of DD that are more ear friendly and cause far less listening fatigue than the 9500 series, but I also have come to see that most compare the HDC3 to the 9500 for some reason.haha... So if he wants fair transient response (aka onset delay, aka high frequency extension), look for a driver with low enough inductance for it to not have much of an effect on frequency response below the low-pass frequency. Fs does not have an effect on onset. The AQ subs are mid/High Fs and high Qts, no real transience to them.
Actually it is shipped. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif But they are out of stock while some new things are in the works. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifThe Icon definitely looks good for $280, but that's not shipped. Never heard a bad word from anyone about an SSA sub. 1000rms and quality construction.
EDIT:Lol just saw that they are sold out. Sorry.
