Lol, Ive done tests on most of the subs listed here myself, and after proper break-in and in proper enclosures. So if he wants fair transient response (aka onset delay, aka high frequency extension), look for a driver with low enough inductance for it to not have much of an effect on frequency response below the low-pass frequency. Fs does not have an effect on onset.
But somebody else above made the best point... any differences of "hollow" or "marshmallowy" or whatever sophomoric/arbitrary qualitative terms people want to use are probably due to differences in optimal enclosures and/or insufficient setup for comparison testing
Onset delay as you mentioned is dictated by the enclosure more so than the le, and le affects upper end extension, not low end and is an attributive of harmonic distortion.
High Qts subs struggle to stay flat (gain output) above Fb if not in properly sized enclosures, Low Qts subs struggle to reach fs without a deviation (dip in output) above tuning. Low Qts subs are normally High ebp and can be ran in 6th order (true 6th order, not Quasi) alignments to reduce the deviation in output across their usable bandwidth. high Qts subs typically have a Low/Mid EBP and prefer 2nd and 4th order alignments. A Qts of .5 needs 3x Vas net volume tuned approx 9Hz below Fs to stay flat and not be boomy. A Qts around .39 will prefer the vented enclosure to mimic Vas ans net volume and tuned right at Fs for an F3 of Fs. The Higher the Qts the larger the enclosure to keep it's response as musical as possible.

The Fs is higher than most would prefer but it can still play decently low and stay pretty flat. These use some very nasty spider packs, the sub would literally be held outta center rest position by the friction of the spiders rubbing against one another. I've not used the 9515g but have all other sizes, the DD's are more musical and will work in substantially smaller enclosures than the AQ's. The DD9512g sounds to the ear much like a T3 T2K 12, bt they share alot of similarities in design so that can be expected.

I lost my IA specs in a hard drive crash or I'd post them as well.
