Well you guys are the pros :

Should I go with a jl audio W7 or a fi btl ?

Its going in a 2000 Cadillac DTS power is not an issue as I have not bought any of the equipment as of yet.

It will be a daily driver I deff want it to get loud but will not be competing at all.

Space should not be an issue either I got :

Height : 15

Width : 39

Depth : Like to keep it around 17- 19 but can go deeper if I have to.

Finally a thread to get rid of the stupid message at the top of the board.

Yeah, those are completely different subs. If you're torn between those two, you have some more research to do. Out of those 2, I say you should get the dub seven because I don't think you know what you're getting into with the BTL

I understand they are 2 different subs & no I dont know what Im getting into with the btl.

Well I've heard plenty of W7's I have never heard nor seen a btl in person, What could I be getting into ? They like power, or so I've read & I got the money to provide it lol.

So thats why I'm asking, Will the btl sound as good as the w7 ? or are they pretty much just for spl ? Ah, gotcha.

Okay, well let me try to explain my understanding of the sub. The BTL has the ability to get loud, and by loud I mean a lot louder than the 12w7. However, the BTL will not be able to retain as much sound quality as the 12w7. But while no one would consider the BTL an sq sub, from what I understand it has more sq than other spl subs like the RE MT and DD 9500 series.

Anyway, if you're thinking about going with a BTL 12, get an amp that can give it 2000 - 3000 rms and put it in a 2.5 cubic foot ported box tuned to 36 hz or so and it'll be a lot louder than a 12w7 and not sound like complete ***.
