You need 4 channels to go active - so if that is what you want use the 100.4
There you have it. SAX-100.4 is the way to go.

And you don't HAVE to go active if you get a component set with a nice passive crossover... or don't have the patience to tweak and tune your sound with the active crossover. But with the 100.4 you can get a less expensive head unit and still go active whenever you're ready.
