That says something about the alt its self then I would say. I will be interested to see what they can do now that they haven't been able to in the last two alts:crazy:

yeah. the alt will get oven hot 300+ in secound after starting the jeep. All my batts sit @ 13.2v each.

Why dont you ask them for a int. stock regulator instead of ext.?

cuz i lose power. my car computer will always set my voltage to 13.5-13.8v and thats ****ing weak, i can hear a big differents from that to 15.3

i have my shit set to 14.8 when not bumping. but put it up to 15.3 when kick'n it down hard. always trun it down when the alt cant keep up and give it a few secs to build up power

This is from MissingLinkAudio when i asked diff between his module and an ext. reg alt:

The main deference is our modules fluctuate with your systems needs and

the external regulators have 2 things that we don't recommend 1) they are

hard on things because they don't fluctuate with your system and try to

hold voltage which when alt is trying to protect its self which causes the

alt to over heat and FRY. 2) removing the regulator to external takes away

the heat sencing which leads to the same outcome Fried alts.

Get rid of the ext. reg ASAP

I would think so.

Email them.....thats what id try....you tried the ext. reg and thats having probs.

Ask for a int. reg 250amp mechman and try a 15.5 MLA module

give mechman one more try since they're trying to make it right, and I agree on trying the MLA vs ext reg set up.

step 1: get money back from mechman if you feel you should be fully reimbursed.

step 2: with that money, buy 2 more stock alts,

step 3: go to local machine shop, have them fab up a bracket for the three alts, there may be a way to have the fit fine under the hood (less than 100 bucks)

step 4: go to auto parts store get a custom length belt.

install stuff

enjoy over 400 reliable amps of charging current
