Hello all! After browsing this forum and many others I finally decided to join and ask a few questions.

So I'm looking into upgrading my speakers in my truck (07 Tundra) and been reading mixed reviews on how it was done. The stock has 6x9's in the door and either 3.5s or 2in tweets in the dash. This is why im confused, I've read people putting 3 3.5s in the dash and doing 6x9 in the door but ive also heard people doing a 6.5 component setup also. Which of the two ideas would be best and does the dash have 3.5s or tweeters? Does anyone here have any experience with the Tundra setup? Thanls in Advance!

I'd say a mixture of both quality and loud. I don't need a competition system or anything just better than my stock one.

Don't forget about 6x9 component systems. You can get some great bass from a 6x9 aftermarket woofer and then with a 2" speaker in the dash you will still get a lot of sound coming from up there.

The 6x9what component is different then the 3 way 6x9 right?
I'm not quite sure what you're asking. The $200 components have a woofer and a tweeter per side, which is a 2-way. We have 3-way components which add a 2", 3" or 4" midrange in addition to the woofer and tweeter.

And why would I need adapters for them?
When you look at the factory speaker you'll see it's got a plastic frame that fits to an odd shaped hole. The adapter is needed to cover that hole in addition to providing enough clearance for the top mounting depth.

Sorry. So when I searched 6x9 component it brought up these 6x9 component sets with tweets and Crossovers. So I saw those and also the 6x9 3wayin setup and thought they were different.

Ok. I was looking at the CDT 2 way and got confused cause I've always seen 6x9my with it all built into one speaker not the seperates with crossovers. After I do the front stage setup would I also add 6x9 to the rear? Or something different? I've narrowed it to CDT, ID, Massive or Re xxx. I also read fosgate t series were good for a bit cheaper. Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure i can progressively add speakers as i go.

We can also offer the Massive Audio, RE Audio or Diamond Audio 6x9 components. The Diamond set is $180 and I would have to pm you a price on Massive Audio or RE Audio.

Your rear speakers are 6.75", so you need 6.5" or 6.75" and adapters. I recommend keeping the same brand of speaker front and rear. You should also put a 4-channel amplifier on your wish list.
