07 Silverado Install thread *PICS*

Alright i finally got done with my first install ever and i think it sounds pretty good

it consists of

-Pioneer Premier 880

-Rainbow Germaniums

-2 10" TC-7

-DLS CA41 Comp Amp

-Memphis MCD-1000d Sub Amp

-SecondSkin Deadening on front doors

-KnuKoncepts Wiring and RCA's

The subs are getting 550w a piece and the germs are getting 140w per door

I was too lazy to put the seats back in they go on top of the amp rack and i didn't take a picture of the truck cause its too dirty

The only thing i don't like about this system is the subs and i think it has to do with the install...they are loud playing in the low frequencies of rap and such but with rock they are hardly heard and double bass is not tight at all or loud, they have 1.5 cubes a piece which is what the guy at TC told me to put them in when i called and he said a smaller box won't really make them punchier/tighter it would resonate at a certain frequency more.....what should i do i don't like em?

Hmm, maybe that has to do with where the crossover points are set for the low pass filter? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but if the low pass is set too low, then the subwoofer won't hit a lot of the higher frequencies you'd hear playing rock music. (like you said, the kick drum and stuff)

Other than that, it looks great. Must sound awesome. Definitely did it all up the right way.

ya the seat hides basically all those wires and i have the crossover point to 80hz at 12db slope so i don't think it has to do with the settings thanks for the suggestion though

maybe the subs are just not meant to beat the chest, just to stay cool calm and collected i bet if i rough em up a bit theyll get mean:naughty: haha

as for the sub i guess the best way to describe it is like a home theater subwoofer

i just took the top of the box off (pain in the ***!) and now i built a small box to go inside that is .5 cubes to take up some of the airspace and see if it sounds better so it should be done tomorrow and we'll see im pumped!

yep theres the problem, there was too much airspace, taking out .5 cubes helped a ton! its a pretty good balance between being punchy and still being able to get low (these subs excel at that for sure)

thats a nice install congrats. i like the box you have for the subs, did you make the box or have someone alse make it??
