06 hifonics vs 08 hifonics

my hifonics seemed alright until recently.

it wont turn off and sends random power surges to my speakers

so they thump every time i turn the car off.

I guess the quality of the product matchs the price...low.

ya ive heard more people having trouble with the other lines more than the BXI line up

hifonics are fine amps, most errors occur because of user stupidity... but anyway, get the 08 just because i think you will find they are more efficient

It amazes me that someone would think that an amp not turning OFF is a problem with the amp...you do realize amps are passive about powering on right?..thats like blaming clipping on a speaker.

unless you actually took the amp apart and saw that something else was damaged, somehow shorting the circuit and causing it to constantly stay on, it can't just randomly stay powered on...

I will never buy a hifonics....too many problems....I'd suggest to save for a more reliable amp
hmm. i've had a hifonics 1206d for about 1.5 years and then sold it to my buddy whos had it for about a half year... so two years @ 1 ohm being pushed like a mofo (never once got hot even at 1 ohm...) and not a problem. what amp were you using? what happened? supposedly the older stuff is even better....

from what i hear they are rated correctly, or close, at 1 ohm. but 2 and 4 ohm are over rated. the stats on the site say one thing, the box says another and when you call them they have some other rating. thats what i heard some one elce go through. im thinking about trying one out too. that buy one get one free type R deal has me interested in my first wall lol.

ya i'm probably just going to do that. i mean whats another week to wait when i've been waiting for two months.

same thing here with my 05, I gave that thing low voltage *** whoopins everyday all day.
Amps that can take major clipping and low voltage FTMFW
that's good to hear lol. well i have stock electrical with big 3. and my voltage stays at 14.1 at idle so I'm hoping that i don't get to bad of voltage drops with the amp.

Uhh...If anything from my experience they are UNDERrated at higher impedences
