06 hifonics vs 08 hifonics

nice its cool to get a deal. i dont mind buying used cuz u dont know like in 2 months u might wana change them out. and the next person does not need to know u paid alittle bit of money. kinda a d bag of a thing but what ever times are tough

Ive owned 3 Hifonics Brutus's (1 1205D model (05'), 2 1206D models (06')) First 1205D: awesome amp IMO, ran it HARD, ran it verrrry hot and never had issues hours on end. sold it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif . Bought the 1206D, vibrations supposedly from my box ruined it (even though i never had a problem with the 1205 hmmm). sent it in for warranty, they (onlinecardiscounts) sent me another new 1206D, went into protect after warranty ended on this one. Took it to a local repair shop, waited SEVEN months only to get back a STILL broken amp with NO endcaps and NO set screws. basically a boat anchor, i will never know if it can be fixed cause i threw it in the trash i was so pissed.

but yeah, the older models (all silver, not black and not the new ones) are good for a budget amp. I wouldnt suggest 06' or later.

alright. it seems like its hit or miss. i hear allot of complaints but at the same time allot of good things. but i guess that's common with a mass produced budget amp.

They are good budget amps. I have ran them and installed them in several vehicles. As long as you take care of them they will work fine. The older ones were known to be over rated by a bit, the new ones are supposed to do close to, or even more than rated power.

ya that is what i was wanting to know. i mean i'm really only looking for 1500 RMS out of the amp not going to run more than that to the type Rs. but if i'm going to upgrade after that id like to have the 2k watts to run to a different pair.

I would get one of the 08 models. It will be worth it in the end.
