So I've had an fairly serious electrical issue while installing my new HU.
I have a 06 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 4 speaker system, it has the REF stereo. I installed a Alpine IVA-D106 (with sirius sat and nav), with a PAC C2R-CHYNA wiring harness, and a PAC TR-7 universal output module (for bypassing the park brake lock out for using the nav while driving).
Everything matched up good, no issues while wiring. Had the neg battery terminal disconnected while I removed the old HU and installed the new HU. When I had the new HU in, I reconnected the neg battery terminal and started the truck.
Everything was cool, new HU looked good, everything seemed to work, but ..... I had a bunch of lights on on my dash, ABS, Park brake, Serv 4wd, etc. So I put the old HU back in to see if it fixes the problem, no luck. i took it to the dealership and they think that the TIPM (totally integrated power module) has failed. About a 1000 buck touch!
Has anyone had a similar issue, I triple checked the wiring, and had 2 friends look it over, and it looks good. So I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or if I did something wrong? And if I should try again when I get the truck back.
Any thought would be appreciated, thanks!
