06 Dodge Ram Install Issues

So i talked to the stealership this morning and he says that they can't reprogram it! so who knows, i would hope that they aren't outright screwing me, but you never know! so if they get it fixed, i'm gonna get the hu installed by someone else i guess.

hmmm yea they should beable to flash/reprogram it.....

they say that they can't reprogram it. i called this morning, they say that they could only reprogram it with the trailer brake issues that the 06's had, he said that this was very different, so i don't know?

man, thats so odd. i have installed over 100 radio and remote starts in this truck and have never had an issue. thats so weird. this is the one issue i have with data bus modules for radios. every once in a while you will have a unit that will totally kill the truck. I had an rookie installer use a metra interface on a caddy and the same issue happened gm style.

yea i totally hate the the canbus system.

but if you want to find a used tipm i know a guy on cumminsforum that had one. he said it had trailer brake issues and he bought new one. i think he only wanted 200 bucks.

Thanks anyway Neel, just got it back from the stealership today, after 1000 bucks. Thanks for all the info, it's greatly appreciated. So no i'm off to the place where i got the deck to install it, oh well.

Aww man that sucks. Im guessing they replaced it?

I still havent fixed mine. Im going to pull it out and open it up. If something is fried I may be able to fix it and plug it back in. If not used I go haha

Ya, put a new one it. got an appointment next week at the place i bought all the equipment from to put it in. so much for saving some cash and doing it myself! oh well.
