05 silverado with bose...uggg help!

I am up in the air on whether or not to replace the whole system.. I was thinking of keeping the stock head unit so that I could keep my factory XM antena. I like the in dash changer and the steering wheel controls.... my question is can I hook up two amps to this and have the system I am trying to accomplish. I know it is going to cost a ton in adapters and such.. has any one done this... I guess I wouldnt mind replacing the stocker with a nice eclipse with nav.. IF I would keep the factory xm antena and still have use of the steering wheel controls...

Please help or shed some light on this...

I have a denali and i replaced the entire system except head unit. I didn't replace that because i didn't want to lose the rear seat audio controls and the ability for my passengers to listen to source material different than the front passengers. You can accomplish what you want to do by using high to low signal converters or you could buy a piece such as some of the audio control stuff and go from there. You will need to change out the bose speakers because they use uncommon impedances. I added a sub amp and a 4 channel amp and couldn't be happier. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY NO HIGHS NO LOWS MUST BE BOSE.

running an amp off the stock head unit requires a $100 adapter. A friend of mine got his installed at best buy. he had a 03 silve and ran an MTX thunder series amp to a single Jl12w0. unfortionatly, this setup doesnt' allow for easy tuning through the head unit.

My reccomendation would be to ditch the stock head unit and go with an aftermarket one.

If you're doing the installation yourself, a quality system with head unit, 4 speakers (including 2 front components) Sub, Multi amp, sub amp and wiring can be had for less than $1000 if you know where to shop.
