What would be the best all around enclosure for an 05 XXX15? I had an 18 sealed and loved it, but I want to get that same output, but with a smaller sub, I'm sure I'll have to go ported this time.

Should I tune low ( low 30s/high 20s), and is it true that usually 05 XXXs like larger boxes? I have more than enough power, so thats not an issue. I was thinking 4cuft@30hz, but I'm looking to see if anyone has any better advice. I also considered a 4th order, but I'm not sure how it would perform.

Looking for a nice even sound, that still gets decently loud

3.5ft^3 at 28-30hz will probably do you well. If you liked the 18 in a sealed box, then you definitely do not need the usual 35-40hz box that'll have a big peak in the 40's. Tune low, keep the box on the average size, and you'll have a pretty smooth response that will somewhat mimic the smoother roll-off of a sealed box, with a little more output.

Thank you sir, thats what I was thinking, but wanted a second opinion
