05 RE XXX 12" sub- Foam + Specs?

I got a 2005 RE XXX 12" sub wanted to have a small hole fixed in the foam surround and also what size sealed or ported box would this sub need?

Would it be better to return the sub to RE or try and fix the sub locally>? Weighs around 52 lbs.

Just take some clear silicon and seal it up from under the surround.
