04 Explorer battery

any one here with an 02-05 explorer with the 4.6L V8....whats the largest battery i can fit under the hood without doing any modifications? Im hoping either a d3100 or an hc2400 would fit...any suggestions??

Nope...itll fit on its side though with a lil hacking:

I had 2 Batcap 2000s in there too, they fit nicee:

Stinger SPV70 will fit ok from what ive seen, standing up right too

SP1700 with a lil trimmin of the back tray... u can fit a 2400 or a 3100 if u flip it on its side and build ur own tray

what exactyly did you have to hack away to do the 2400?

I may just run a 1800 or a 2000 under the hood and a few 2400's in the back depending on how much hacking is involved

Well, you did say, "largest that will fit without modification". So, I'd say get an Odyysey PC1750. It's a direct drop-in.
