01 malibu pioneer won't turn on

the 01 malibu's have their door chime run through the stock h/u. So you must buy a harness either to connect the stock h/u in the trunk or glove box or option 2 is to buy an adapter thing that lets it go through ur aftermarket. My friend bought the 2nd one and we tried hooking up his pioneer deh-p8mp last night and it woudn't turn on. I have a volt tester and tested thepower, and ACC all had power and checked the ground but still nothing from the headunit. Any ideas fellas?

see what happens when you connect the constant to the ignition, and vice-versa.

when using the Gm relocation harness I dont use the acc on the harness i always tap into the brown wire on the Ac controls harness which is an accessory 12 volts, and the radio always comes on.

we might have it figured out. His stock cd player didn't work when he got it so he got another stock one, which was "locked" so were thinking the "lock" part is the problem.

just have to wait and see and thanks for the posts

The "lock" function on the factory CD player will have no effect at all on an aftermarket CD player.
