im going to be doing an install on my girls (see title) car. she has the 6 speaker option , 6x9 rear, 6.5 front and some tweets in the dash.

front door and dash look like theyre going to be a pita but it will get done. also since i took her old pioneer im going to be getting her one soon. probably from crutchfield cause i love the mastersheet they send you with every order that breaks down how to get at what. but before then i plan on running wires so when the radio gets here i could just drop everything in.

a x600.1 and 2 alum12q's (for the time being) are going in, still planning on what to replace oem speakers with.

any owners have any tips/heads ups about this car?

i have a 99 accord (same gen) with the 6 speakers.

getting at the doors is EASY. two screws, pull out the lever and window things, and pop it off.

the stock speakers have a plastic baffle around them that protects the back from rain. it's not really needed and if you want to use decent 6.5's you'll have to cut out the back for more depth (very easy, i did it with a hacksaw in 5 minutes).

then if you use their plastic baffle you don't have to drill any holes.

if you're tricky you can get the speaker wire through the stock boot (so you can't see it at all).

getting panels off along the carpet is also pretty easy, just start pulling. i don't think the 'kick' panels come off, though. at least i can't get mine off.

i was able to run all my wiring (power, rca's, speaker wire) completely hidden and without drilling any holes. might need to find someone with small hands or a wire pushing tool.

haven't bothered to take the whole dash apart yet (to get at the tweets). if you do it please take pics and let me know how it goes!

i have the same car, and the installs on the car is fairly easy except when it comes to mounting the tweets... you'll have to find a different place to mount them because its a b!tch to get to the stock location

door pannels are easy to take off, but i heard theres not much depth to work with so you might end up modifiying the mounts to make aftermarket 6.5s fit

ok. sounds pretty straight forward.

her last car was a '00 civic lx and wasnt too bad.

if the tweets are that bad i think ill just relocate em.

i would take pics of the progress but my cam shat itself and im yet to get a new one.
