Warning this question will probably sound extremely dumb. So in short, if I have an OEM headunit and i use a line level converter to output to rca and then used a rca to aux 3.5mm adapter. Could I use that output for an aux input on another headunit? Thanks.

So, here's the deal... my gps unit has a 3.5mm audio output, so I figured why not connect it to my stereo... but the thing is, I still want to listen to music in the car... while at the same time receiving voice commands from the GPS unit. Playing the audio from the GPS itself is not an option...
