    ~.6 cubes sealed - shallow 12 or regular 8/10?

Has anyone run Sundown SA10's sealed yet? All I have seen is ported alignment setups

    New 2012 Type R?

They look very attractive. Anxious to here your thoughts on them. I'm looking at running 2 12" SWR-12D4's in a sealed (.85 cu per chamber recommended) alignment. According to the Spec sheet these don't need much space sealed. One of the few decent 12's out there that appears to be at home...

    New 2012 Type R?

Defiantly interested in hearing folks who have/are installing these opinions.

    4 sa8s or 2 L5 12's???

Funny thread. I suspect the kicker haters lack the experience and knowledge or recall what Kicker has achieved from an engineering perspective. Their "Join Dates" reflect it as well. Comparing an ID company that reuses prefab baskets/cones and lacks a dedicated build house to a company like...

    FI = new dd?

The kids these days get boners for power handling and forget to look at the efficiency.

    IDMAX 10 or JL 10W6v2?

You do realize you can load acoustic response data for a car right? Is it perfect and does it match my BMW? Probably not but it's better then half-space or room mode measurements. And with all things being equal given the same acoustical setting each subwoofer is equally compared. Apples to...

15" L7 sealed - can it get loud?

The OP does have the original 2002 L7s, the same ones Mark and Gary won with.

15" L7 sealed - can it get loud?

^-- What he just said. In the right enclosure and install L7's can win IASCA SQ world championships. Just ask Gary Biggs and Mark Eldridge (2005 champs). Granted they are pros and had ridiculous resources from kicker at their disposal.. I ran 2 2002 Kicker S10l7s ported tuned to 35hz and they...

    IDMAX 10 or JL 10W6v2?

Yes I have a low point count but my join date is in 2002, 7 years before you joined. Post count doesn't make you smarter, experience however.. If you had done your homework and modeled this like I did, even increasing the enclosure size on the IDMax way above recommended .707 QTC won't get...

15" L7 sealed - can it get loud?

I modeled the Sundown SA15 and 2002 Kicker S15L7 in ideal sealed alignments (.707 QTC) and with your power requirements (1500 watts RMS), the 2002 Kicker S15L7 will have greater SPL (+8db more) between 30 - 55hz. In a sealed alignment the Sundown SA's aren't that efficient. Ported is a...

Sealed Setup - JL 12w3v3 or Sundown SA12 or ?

Good suggestion on the 10s. I just can't ignore the low sensitivity rating of the Sundown SA's though . I made a mistake in my home theater previously building inefficient subwoofers and needing an enormous amount of power to get them relatively loud. I have since changed to a...

Sealed Setup - JL 12w3v3 or Sundown SA12 or ?

I'm finally putting a system into my Bimmer and wanted some logical sound advice on some of my assumptions/decisions. One of the main goals for this build is an almost stealth system, hiding away any components with the only thing in clear site being the subwoofers. I also need to make use of...

    IDMAX 10 or JL 10W6v2?

The W6v2 in a sealed alignment is more efficient then the IDMax. Given his 450 watt fixed requirement, my suggestion was based solely on getting the most output with the best SQ out of his amp.

    IDMAX 10 or JL 10W6v2?

If you're stuck with 450 watts RMS, you are hard pressed to beat the W6v2 in the SQ department. It is IASCA's most winning sound quality sub ever. Also more efficicent then the IDMax which will be starved for power with only 450 watts on tap. If your goal is SPL at the expense of SQ, I'd look...
