    Sound Deadener???

Nobody wants to lose the rights to their own names now. (cough Kleenex) Companies hate that. Well Ant doesn't for that reason, but they do have names for their products. :p

    Sound Deadener???

Anti-vibration: butyl/alum. foil mat - used to damp resonations in panels (metal/plastic). Typical requirements 25% coverage in the center of large, flat panels. More can be used but with diminishing returns. This material is not used to block sound, and although it will block some sound with...

What should i get for the best sound quality?

Anything with relatively high excursion and thermal power handling(with good sensitivity). Mechanical and thermal are your only two limits to loudness.

Should I Buy This Sub? PG RSD10

Sealed versus ported is simply a frequency response issue. You have the sub's natural frequency response You have the enclosure's effect on the low frequency response You have the car's cabin gain boosting/cutting various frequencies You have EQing that you add/subtract from the frequency...

Should I Buy This Sub? PG RSD10

PG RSD subs are geared well for low frequency response. They do lack mechanical throw to get really loud though, and a 10" version doesn't help the cause. They aren't very good for high frequency response either, very muddy, well not so much muddy as just noisy and incoherent. I ran the 12"...

    what are these 6.5s

Haha, look nothing like Pioneer PRS or any Seas.

Phoenix Gold Ti6 Titanium Elite Midrange speakers looking for input

NOT for door use. They are specifically geared to be used in compact, sealed (or ported) kick panels/enclosures. They have a high Qts, and frequency response rolls off by around 150Hz in a free air (door) install. In their appropriate kick panels, this extends down to just 100Hz. Excursion...

    morel tempo 6 owners...weak link?

How were the woofers installed? What high pass filter setting? How loud were they played? I ask because the Morals are rated to 300w rms and offer good sensitivity around 90dB, but most of the woofers only have about 3mm xmax and a xmech of about 6-7mm. This gets you to about 100Hz-150Hz up...

    Best sounding componets under $200

New: Type-X Reference ~ $180 on eBay. Slightly warm tone, light and detailed sound, smooth tweeter. The woofer is well detailed with very good low frequency extension a solid 6mm one way xmax(10mm xmech one way). Used: Piioneer PRS ~ $230 on eBay, less used. More neutral tone, neutral...

    Lack of 6" Boxes?

+1 build. Look up the T/S specs for the woofer you're going to use...if available. The Vas, Qts, and Fs of the speaker will give you enclosure sizing as well as porting just like a larger subwoofer. The box will influence the low frequency response of the woofer just the same.

CDT Euros tweets strange on certain tracks

Strange sound can come from the track itself, i.e. you hearing things in the recording you didn't hear before. Strange sound ("this sounds weird/off") typically comes from an unbalanced frequency response and/or unbalanced x-over balance between tweeter and mid. EQing is almost always needed...

    Considering Lanzar Opti.......

I think some of these cheap/non-big name brand are overlooked a little too much. You wouldn't expect anything godly, but decent sounding, affordable products do exist. This isn't the first time I've seen someone like the Optidrive component set either.

Who is a real true SQ devotee and what does it mean to you?

Some good speaker sets will get you down into the lower frequencies well and with some cabin gain will get you low enough to have no need for a sub. It's just that you'll be quite limited in output capability doing so which may or may not be a problem.

Who is a real true SQ devotee and what does it mean to you?

Building up a car audio system is an engineering design process. Randomly put together parts yields random results. When you view the system holistically, everything makes a lot more sense, and the guess work goes away. Know the hardware you run. Know how it fits. Speaking of subs alone...
