how many boxes have you built???
10 that i can recall.. i hate building them... designing is fun, but building (especially without a table saw), is tedious and messy.

How many layers?
depends, I think I used ~3 on mine, maybe only two in some spots. The less big flat spots you have, the less you need to use to avoid flexing.
