I'm sorry, I really don't want to sound like a jerk but how much power would you need to feed this driver to exceed its 29mm XMAX? 10KW? The ability of a driver to move air (which is what we all want our woofers to do, right) is cone area times XMAX. I just think its a total waste to spend big...

If the amp is good and well designed, it will just go into shutdown mode when a low impedance load is connected. Rule - you can always use higher impedance (up to a point) and suffer power loss but you need to be careful going below stated impedance specs - especially with bridging.

Just bought a 2003 VW jetta. It has a stock double din HU, tweeters in the A pillars, etc. Anyone do an install on these? I need to figure out how to remove the stock HU and door panels to install some comps. Thanks

Has anyone built or heard a Steve Deckert Deathbox? I have 2 older 10" Phoenix Gold XMAX subs that might work well in a Deathbox. But aren't all bandpass boxes boomy?

I currently have two Phoenix Gold 10s in a sealed box. Sounds OK but I just eyeballed a Dayton (Parts Express) Dual Voice Coil 15-inch that is -3db in a 3.5 cu. ft. box. This driver looks very decent. Would I get more bass impact and slam by changing out my 2 10's for the single 15 assuming...
