Deathbox Anyone?

Has anyone built or heard a Steve Deckert Deathbox?

I have 2 older 10" Phoenix Gold XMAX subs that might work well in a Deathbox. But aren't all bandpass boxes boomy?

most bandpass boxes are pre-fab ones that are made, essentially, to look pretty so that un-knowledged people will buy them. i believe that with hours of tuning, they CAN sound better than sealed or ported, but that's ever so rare and so time consuming that it's basically pointless. i assume that this "deathbox" is a bandpass box. and yes, bandpass boxes usually have pretty bad peaks, believe me, i have one, it doesn't do very well in the sq department at all. i suggest to completely stay away from bandpass boxes, because i'm sure that sealed or ported can do everything that you want it to
