does anybody kno if a stock '02 maxima head unit has pre-outs for an amp? or if theres any where online for me to look to find out? its a friends car so i cant just pop it out and look so thats why im asking. thanks guys

hey man i mostly listen to punk and ska and i have a ported box tuned to 32 hz and it sounds awsome. my 12's never miss a beat and they never sound muddy. i say go ported tuned between 30 and 35 hz and use the recomended volume that mb quart gives u. good luck

alright. the sd of the sub is 54.7 in^2. if anybody knows a site that will help me too. i searched but couldnt find anything about "how big i can go". thanks for the feedback

also what kind of net volume should i aim for? jl recomends 1.25ft^3 but thats with a way smaller port tuned alot lower than i plan to. should i make it bigger, smaller, or just use what they recomend?

ive been making ported sq boxes for a while now but i have a jl w0 10 layin around and ive been wanting to make a purely spl box. i was lookin for some insite on how big the port should be. i've heard one theory that it should be the same area as the sub. so for that jl 10 would 70in^2 be good...

i have a kx600.1 hooked up to 2 perfect 12's and it sounds great. i made a box for my friends comp vr 18 and to test the box out i hooked it up my amp. i was running it through alot of sweeps and test frequencies for about an hour and a half. once i was done i realized that the sub wasnt dual 4...

just go to the kicker site. they give box sizes and port area, length, and all that good stuff for each one fo their subs. good luck!

nakamichi units are very user friendly and very high quality. i suggest the nak cd-700

i used a perfect 10.1 in a 1.3^3ft ported box tuned to 34 hz and it sounded awsome. it had great sound quality and i was very impressed with the spl. it only had 150 watts rms going into it but it still turned a few heads. a well built ported box is the way to go!!

i got a nak cd-400. i love it. its sounds great, easy to use, no static, only 300$, nice unit.

i finished making the crossover and hooked it up and its awsome. the highs sound very natural and warm now and it saved my tweeters from rippin to shreds from the bass. lol
