    FLi Acid Series subs

My budget is tight as heck unfortunately. Will be using whatever I decide on in a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'm also using a "sonotube" enclosure that I already have built for a 10" sub. I've also been looking at one of the lower cost JBL subs and the Polk db Series subs. I listen to mostly...

    FLi Acid Series subs

Has anyone here on the forum used or have any experience with the FLi Acid Series subs? I'[m not interested in the amplified models, only the bulk sub. Thinking about a 10", powering with an MB Quart DSC-450 Discus amp. Haven't found much online in the way of reviews, but a couple different...

JVC KD-R530 error...miswired and needs reset.

Good day folks. I have the above mentioned JVC receiver in my 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee. All has been good until today when I got the error about miswired and needs to be reset. I reset the deck twice, once with the engine off and once while the jeep was running. Worked for a couple minutes then...

    mounting amps to back seats

I just finished mounting my amp and crossovers to the back of my rear seat. I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee, so practically the same vehicle. I actually mounted everything to a piece of plywood, then mounted the plywood to the seat back. I used inch and a half sheet metal screws to fasten it...

A very noob HU wiring question.

CrossoverOre - Thank you for getting my mind set right. I was sure had no need to connect the factory wires since the RCA's are being used, but I have a tendency to talk myself out of the correct choice. Thanks again for the quick and simple answer.

Hello folks. Acouple quick and easy questions about wiring a new HU. Vehicle - 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Originally equipped with the Infinity Gold system, but that is going bye bye with the new system install. I'm using a JVC KD-R530 HU, MB Quart Discus DSC-450 Amp, MB Quart PVI26 Components...

Anyone use a "sonosub" for their car audio?

snoopdan - I appreciate your informative replies. Very helpful and they hit the nail on the head. Hopefully one of these days you'll have a questions and I can return the favor with such an insightful response. To everyone else, thanks for the comments. I'm perfectly aware that tube enclosures...

Anyone use a "sonosub" for their car audio?

I've been doing some reading and studying on the use of "sonotube" for building sub enclosures. I had an old 12" Pioneer woofer here and decided to take a stab at the project. I haven't tried it in the Jeep yet, but I've hooked it up to my home stereo and I'm surprised at how good it sounds. I...

    problems??

When you turn the key and all it does is click then I'd be checking your starter and/or grounds. Also check the connections on your battery to make sure they're clean and tight. I would blame your problems on the the truck being a Ford, but hell I drive a Jeep and it's a DIY'ers dream vehicle.

Before I start yanking on wires.....

When I go under the Jeep with the power I intend to use split loom to protect the cable. I think that should be sufficient, unless I need something heavier to protect it. Any other precautions I need to take? I have a bag of zip ties that the electrician left here when they rewired my house...

Before I start yanking on wires.....

goingdef - I think yours is sound advice. I think I'll probably run the RCA's from under the dash and under the panels to the back. Sounds much easier than trying to pull the other wires out. I'm also going to run my amp power from the battery under the Jeep and bring it inside through a...

Before I start yanking on wires.....

goingdef - Thanks for reminding me about the possibility the car might not start....that would be just my luck. audiobaun - I've searched until I'm dizzy trying to find the info I need. I have a Factory Service Manual, but even that is no help. I think the factory cd changer was a rare option...

Before I start yanking on wires.....

Thanks Kangaroux, but that isn't quite what I was asking. I'm going to run the power for the amp from the battery underneath the Jeep and bring it up through the floor. I understand I need to keep the power and RCA's as far apart as possible so that isn't my problem. What I'm trying to...
