Yes you can run it like 2 individual amplifiers but in doing so and putting each amp on each coil I wonder if it's good for the sub(will the signals match?) especially at the power levels it can produce. I'll call DD up and ask em. I've seen my 4kw hit 8kw while listening to Outkast and hold so...

Ok, do you think a 4kw is too much power to have on a single DD9917b for daily driving? Also, since the 4kw is really two 9.0's, can I just bridge the two 9.0's into 2ohm each then run a wire to each coil or would that be bad. I always hear mixed results on this.

I was able to fit 4 15's in the trunk of my Grand Marquis. I'm selling the marquis now but my new jetta can totally fit an 18" and stay stealth so I'm not sure why you're having so much trouble.

I bought a new car and rather then strip out all the audio stuff from the old car; I'd rather sell the car as is. I finally got my setup metered yesterday at a SLAP show but 2 of my 15's were blown. My score for a 6 cubic foot box and 2 15's tuned to 31hz in the trunk and about 1000w per sub was 145db. Oddly enough it was 145db at 22 volume and 145db at 35 volume at 39hz. Not to sidetrack but in theory when...

I run those with the mids (spx-f17t) and they do allright, the low end is a bit weak at times but that is only because they need lots of power. I really really like the tweeters though.

My box is all 1" mdf and fiberglass under the vanity panels; the amp rack is bolted to it, nothing is going anywhere. Takes me 45min to swap out the speaker amp. If I ever had to take out my 4kw I'd probably spend a couple hours doing so.
