    Help - What's Preamp out?

well, all you need to look for is a head unit that has one pair of rca's for each amp that you get. for example, if you are looking to power ur front speakers with an amp, then u need one pair of rca outs from ur HU. some of the newer HU's have three sets of rca's. one for the front set of...

    8 gauge?

better to be safer with 4 gauge to a distribution block, and then 8 gauge to the amps... and there will be a difference with the extra power

2 amps 1 set of components

im not sure about those comps, but mine have the option to be powered together or separately. assuming you could do this also, you do not want to wire the amp between the crossover and the speaker. just run rca's to the two amps, and then use a y-splitter on each one, and hook those up to each...

    wiring a voice coil

agreed. you do not want to hook them up in that configuration. if your two channels are hooked up in stereo, which is very likely, you will get two different signals to each voice coil. but you cannot hook them up for a 4 ohm load. with 4 ohm dvc's, u have to wire them in parallel to get a 2...

it all depends on the sub, the box and the surface area of the port.. we could help you better if you have those dimensions

    Port placement?

there was a book (loudspeaker cookbook?) that said that a port can be placed on any side of the enclosure... but multiple ports should be placed on the same plane

    5.25" Component Comparison

save up a little more money for the sub and check out the elemental designs k series... as for components, take a look at JL Audio XR series... real nice comps for the price, and they hold up pretty well to middle end brands like mb quart, diamond, boston acoustics..

    miss labeling "JBL 600.1"

its not really a glitch or mislabeled... its just not clearly labeled.. just play it by ear and adjust to what sounds best to you

    box for ek12d2, .88-1.0

i read a post where a guy tested that sub in a 1.2 and a .93, and found that he liked the .93ft^3 better... more punchier and great sq. personally, i think you would do well with any size of these boxes. maybe the amount of room it takes in ur truck will be a good determining factor.
