    Installing component speakers

Almost certainly not. Factory "crossover frequency" on your component set is 4600hz. The crossover frequency on that passive crossover is 3800hz, so you would be cutting off the woofer sooner, and making the tweeter play lower. Pioneer probably designed that set just fine for what it does. Just...

How to connect smaller gauge wire to the middle of a bigger wire?

That's pretty much exactly what I was planning on doing. I think if i wrap it through, then around, then around itself several times and solder it it will be stronger than a cheap Chinese dist. block. Here's a ridiculous and unnecessarily detailed, but relatively inaccurate drawing I put...

How to connect smaller gauge wire to the middle of a bigger wire?

From what I understand, the alpine amp really only accepts a 12 gauge wire... the wire is built in to the clip that plugs into the amp, so even if i use a bigger wire, i'd be splicing it down to connect to the amp anyway. I might even be overestimating the size of the wire... i heard somewhere...

How to connect smaller gauge wire to the middle of a bigger wire?

Run into a little question on a new install... There will be a small alpine KTP-445u powerpack amp stashed behind the dash near the radio. A RF PS-8 powered sub unit will live under the passenger seat. I want to run an 8 gauge power wire through the firewall to power the sub. The powerpack...

WTB HU with Pandora ready, and interfaces well with Droid phone (down w/ i-Communism)

JVC has a few brand new this year units that integrate well with Android. this is a cheap one... i just picked up one of the slightly more expensive "arsenal" ones earlier this week... seem like they are all out of stock now. Don't know how it works yet, no reviews or recommendations yet, but...

'05 Civic Hybrid Sedan - Complete Audio Retool

Another thing to consider is that if you get a new head unit, you can get bluetooth, and connect wirelessly to the tablet that way. Never really tried bluetooth for audio streaming before, so i dont know how the sound quality is, but its a nice option. JVC even has a new line of stereo that can...

    Comps?

If stock speakers sound fine to you, then i agree, 100$ components will be fine. The masses like infinity speakers just fine... reference series are around 100$, but are two ohm i believe. Hell, to be honest dude, im sure you could even save yourself another 10-20$ and get one of these...

    Alpine 9813 Help

I think before any retiring happens i would do some basic troubleshooting and make sure a wire hasn't wriggled loose or something in the back. You never know how it was installed or anything. But... it sounds to me like it might be deadsville. i cant think of any wire back there that would stop...

    Good deck for $75-$150????

I just picked up a new car last week... already updrading. I ordered this one from crutchfeild before they went out of stock, with a 20$ off coupon (offer code 3a825) JVC Arsenal KD-A735BT CD receiver at Crutchfield.com Not sure if anywhere else has them, but it seems like a pretty legit deck...

My Bar/Basement/HT room build with lots of pics.

Its pretty much a man cave... just one without anything at all related to sports... And i think workout equipment is a suitable replacement for a pool table until i find a briefcase full of cash under a park bench.
