From what i know, 1 ohm is more powerful then 2, 2 more then 4, etc. As i was told. Why wouldnt everyone just wire up their amps for 1 ohm rather then 2 or 4?

I've heard its extremly easy to take out your after stock head unit. I have a JVC in a ford expidition. I'm pretty good at figuring things out, but no experience in this. ANy suggestions on how i could do this?

so how exactly does that work then? wiring a mono amp for two subs. Do you almost literaly just split the wires for the one input for two?

Would it be better to have a mono channel amp split to run two subs (alpine) or just get a duel channel amp?

Alright, yea, i was lookin at it. SO, since it does 1000x1 at one ohm, it means it you spit it to two, at one ohm yuo get 500 to each sub? So then if you split it at 4 ohms like you were sayin at first, that means each sub would only get around 125?? And how does making a mono amp power two...

I read in one of these that Alpine Type R's sound better with a ported box. Why would that be, and what exactly does porting do, give more airspace and therefor let the sub hit harder?

Also, seein its 250 x 1 at 4 ohms, what would happen if you put it up to two like im doin? and then why not 500 x 1 at 2 ohms?

What yall think about an Audiobahn a8002t powerin 2 alpine Type R 12''s. Also, would the mono; a800t be any better or worse?

2 alpine Type R 12's. Stores will sell them for 200 each, but i've found them online anywhere for 2 for 250 w/ one year warrenty for 26 each
