    Amplifier stuck in protect

I'll be taking it apart tomorrow... I'll probably put some pics up on here once i do that.

    Amplifier stuck in protect

My amp is an soundqubed s1-1250. I have a dvc 2 ohm sub wired in parallel down to 1 ohm. I know i did that right. my new sub is a sundown sa-12 rev 3 d2. I have ofc 4 gauge ran through the car to the amp and my alt can do 120 amps i believe. None of this would affect whether or not the amp could...

    Amplifier stuck in protect

Alright so I’ve done most of that. I’ve used a dmm and the voltage between positive and negative is 14.4 so the power is all good. I’ve traced the wires all along the car and everything is in working order. I believe i did blow the sub by clipping too much though. It blew wired down to 2 ohms...

    Amplifier stuck in protect

So recently my subwoofer blew and I wasn't too sad about it because it was time for an upgrade anyway. So I just got my new sub in and hooked it all up and now my amp won't go out of protect. I'm not sure if this has been the case ever since the sub blew to begin with, but I just now noticed it...

    Sundown SA-12 rev.3 DVC 4 ohm

I have the wire coming straight from the front battery back to the amp... roughly 17 feet I'd say. On paper with the s1-1250 wired down to 1 ohm it'd be pulling 1260 watts rms plus the added wattage that the two-channel pioneer is pulling, it would be about 1380 watts rms. As you have stated...

    Sundown SA-12 rev.3 DVC 4 ohm

Alright, thanks for the link. So the 0 gauge, in your opinion, is absolutely necessary? You don’t think i could get by with the 4 gauge that’s currently in there? Like will it be unsafe to run 4 gauge? Will it affect the sound output? I know it would be ideal to have the 0 gauge but I’m just...

    Sundown SA-12 rev.3 DVC 4 ohm

So reading from my above replies... do you think my electrical system would be able to handle the amp being wired down to 1 ohm? Is the big 3 still needed? 0 gauge? Thank you for your response.

    Sundown SA-12 rev.3 DVC 4 ohm

I was under the impression that the impedance rise was only affecting the current between the amp and the subwoofer... and that the nominal impedance (what the system is wired down to) stayed constant between the battery and the amp. Is that a wrong assumption? I honestly don't know. So what...

    Sundown SA-12 rev.3 DVC 4 ohm

I guess you could say that. So I get that the big 3 is a must. Point taken. However, do you believe replacing the 4 gauge is just as important or could the 4 gauge work?

    Sundown SA-12 rev.3 DVC 4 ohm

Well if I were to wire it down to 1 ohm with the DVC 2 ohm SA-12, having all of my cars electrical being stock, would I have to upgrade the electrical system in any way? I've been wary to do that because I'm kind of over dicking around with the wiring and not looking to spend more money on...

    Sundown SA-12 rev.3 DVC 4 ohm

Super dumb question it seems, but why exactly would it be running on 4 or 6 ohms when it's wired to 2? I've heard the term impedance rise but not entirely sure what causes it or how it plays into the system.

    Sundown SA-12 rev.3 DVC 4 ohm

Back again. Looking at the sundown sa-12 as the title states. When paired with a soundqubed s1-1250 putting out 860 rms watts wired down to 2 ohms do you think this will be a good match? Any feedback is appreciated. Cheers.

    Need new subwoofer

With my current (now old I suppose) setup, I had my system wired down to 2 ohms which pushed around 860w RMS to the subwoofer, and ideally, I'd like to keep that same setup. So a DVC 4 ohm sub, but I am wondering about which subs are out there that are a good bang for your buck.

    Need new subwoofer

My Pioneer Champion Series PRO TS-W3003D4 blew out the other day which leaves me with my whole setup except a sub. I still have a Soundqubed S1-1250 in the back of my car and looking for a new subwoofer, potentially an upgrade. I'm very interested in the Soundqubed HDS3.2 12 inch woofer but I am...

    Sub box construction

I am just wondering what i should use to put all of my pieces together. Wood glue, gorilla glue, nails, screws, industrial grade adhesive (pl-400). maybe a combination of some of those. I’m just now sure what’s best so any help would be appreciated.
