Current events discussion

You really need to educate yourself before you speak, kid.
Your "gotcha" moments are a colossal fail, every time.
I don't expect you to remember every post I make, or every detail I share about me, but don't be dumb enough to attempt a "gotcha" when you obviously have no clue. Do your homework.

The '77 and '78 280Z had hood louvers. They added them to combat vapor lock in the fuel injection system.
Pre-'77 did not have the louvers, I replaced a '77 hood with a pre-'77 hood. They were identical in fit from the 240Z to the end of the 280Z series in 1978, so it was a four-bolt swap that took probably 20 minutes.
I also added a cooling fan scavenged off of a later turbo ZX, and wired it to a factory-looking switch in the dash, below the radio.
Neither of which helped the fan clutch or the clogged radiator I had to replace.

Yeah, I have a pic or three. Somewhere in a 7' bookshelf of photo albums, that I have to digitize from my parents' estate .
Would you like to come over and do some scanning for me?

My ZX on the lift. Not BBS wheels. Hayashi.
The lift had a bad habit of creeping down overnight. Had to be sure the lock engaged once up.
Outside that window was a Boars' head delivery truck that my customer paid to park there when not delivering.
Also, stacks of tires and a crate of metal to be recycled.

I assume you were a member in good standing of the Z Car Club Of America when you had your sled?
The club founder raced this all over the US. You probably saw him at races. I know I did.
The guy in that hat is Phil B. He raced Alphas. Dave H is sitting on the fender, with his back to us.
This car got totalled in a "coffee cup" race at Pocono, and replaced with a ZX.
300HP, normally-aspirated.

No, I've never seen a Z car before, haha.
Those hare hood vents on the 1977 and 78. Not louvers.

That ZX is yours about as much as this one was mine...

My 280zx. Never needed to be on a lift.

They are louvered vents. Looks like your ZX had them.

Never on a lift? So you never did springs, exhaust, clutch? Sounds bone stock. Automatic, I assume?

I would never think you owned a Bob Sharp car, and I never claimed the race car was mine.
Funny you bring up Bob, though. The ZX shell that replaced the crashed race car was a retired Sharpmobile.

The guy who built the engine for the red/yellow/orange car: His father-in-law owned a Datsun/Nissan dealership. So did Bob Sharp. Bob's was in CT.
Many photos exist of Bob and the driver of that other car on the track together at Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Pocono, Mid-Ohio, Road America. Along with Paul Newman.

Did you ever take your car on the track after you got it running?

Damn son, you THAT easily confused?
You said Trump has made things cheaper. Then you complain healthcare is more expensive.
Which is it: Cheaper, or more expensive? Can;t be both.
Did I say everything was cheaper? Nope! I see why you're a democrat. Everything has to spelled out to you in order for you can start to understand simple verbiage.
There is no such thing as a "false" verbatim quote.
If you want to try that "out of context" nonsense, go ahead and share the context surrounding the quotes that indicate Kirk was saying the quoted words were not what he meant.

Here is an example for you: "If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified."
Show us the "context" that indicates Kirk did not mean these words.
Again, it has to be spelled out to you. He did say that, and what was the context? Let me spell it out. His response was due to DEI hires. Thise is where people were getting hired due to their skin color and not their qualifications. Would you want an airplane pilot who was only hired because of their nationality or would you want a pilot that is actually qualified to fly the plane. Listen for yourself.

Yet another way to say you can't prove your claims.
Jimi did the same shit. And then I showed my own food order, and the same products months later.
Go in and Google the average cost of milk, eggs, bread, and meat for 2024 vs 2025. Certain brands of canned goods have gone up, but that's associated with the cost of labor going up. Especially if you buy produce from California where wages are up to $16.50 now.

So nothing changed physically. But you think the border got "closed". Quite the fantasy.

"It is now illegal"? Pretty sure that's been the case since LONG before Trump was POTUS.
It goes back to 1929.
Did you not know about immigration laws before 2017?

Still, it's "border".
And I think CBP would be real happy to hear you say they didn;t do anyhting from 2021-2024.

Except they DID:
View attachment 68515

The fact that you continue to use "boarder" after being corrected speaks volumes.
I guess you've been living under a rock lately? You had NO idea about the illegal deportations happeneing under Trump? The lawsuits he lost? The court orders against them?

Wake up. Or stop arguing things you do not have any clue about.
So, without you naming any laws he has broken, I'll take that as there not being any. Nice try with your flipping of words. We already know how you work. If you don't have evidence to back you up, you just throw out insults and say we are not paying attention. LOL... again, nice try!

If you are not aware of the physical things that were done at the border, then you are the only living under a rock. He put up more walls, sent the military to the border, repaired the barbed wire that Biden refused to fix, and Trump allowed the border patrol to do their job. He is also having the offenders returned to Mexico. Did you know more illegals crossed the border in one month, under Biden, than the last 6 months under Trump?

Just like you closing the gate to your yard, Trump closed the gate at the border. You enter and you get in trouble. The dems way is, "You enter, we give you free housing, food, money, healthcare, and cell phones."

"The number".
Was that "the number" of towers?
The inflow volume of the feed line?
The flow rating of the pumps filling the towers?
The holding volume of the towers?
The outflow volume of the tanks?
The flow volume of the hydrants?
The number of lines connected to the hydrants?
The flow rating of each line?
The number of reservoirs that were feeding the area?
The number of gallons of water in the feed reservoirs?

Pretty amazing you answered my requests for all of that data with "the number".
Nah, not amazing. You're just full of shit.
You might want to take those words back and just admit your too ignorant to understand my answers. Again, get over it. You missed it and you refuse to go back and find it because you would have to admit you were wrong.

LOL. Dead since I was a kid.
Unlike you with your "mayor" and "fire chief" friends (who seem to have left you in the lurch when you needed info), I fight my own battles.
Well, you would have to fight your own battles. No body is dumb enough to fight a losing battle with you. Do you hear yourself when you're trying to flip words, so you don't have to admit your wrong? Even your wife and kids left you hanging. Maybe it's time you sit back and reflect on your life and realize you are thinking things wrong.

Tell me again how dual outputs are not internally bridged on an amp. I need a good chuckle. I'm hoping you will, one day, admit you don't know what bridging means and/or what a bridge is.

Did I say everything was cheaper? Nope! I see why you're a democrat. Everything has to spelled out to you in order for you can start to understand simple verbiage.
We're talking about inflation, and the CPI. The CPI is a "basket of goods", not a single product.

I guess the concept has to be spelled out for you:
A single product is not considered the defining factor of the cost of living going up or down. The picture is a lot bigger than that.

Go read up on the CPI so you can understand the verbiage.

DEI is about far more than skin color. Assuming a person is incapable simply due to t he color of their skin is racist. By default.
Does that concept confuse you?

But since you fully believe Kirk is right, can you share an example of a pilot that was hired due to skin color, and was not capable of flying a plane?
Maybe an ATC?
Maybe a truck driver?
How about YOU find the job, and share an example that shows Kirk didn't mean what he said, or was right about his fears?

Go in and Google the average cost of milk, eggs, bread, and meat for 2024 vs 2025. Certain brands of canned goods have gone up, but that's associated with the cost of labor going up. Especially if you buy produce from California where wages are up to $16.50 now.

Go in and Google the CPI and what it has done since Trump took office.
If you want to argue that they are getting the stats wrong, then prove it.

Go back and get the prices of the products in the CPI from February. Compare them to now. Show us where the BLS has fudged the numbers.

So, without you naming any laws he has broken, I'll take that as there not being any. Nice try with your flipping of words. We already know how you work. If you don't have evidence to back you up, you just throw out insults and say we are not paying attention. LOL... again, nice try!
Ahhh, ANOTHER yahoo who simply denies court cases and decisions that interfere with his Trump Sycophant Syndrome.
Try SCOTUS cases 24A884, 24A931, 25A169, district court case 1:25-cv-00872, 1:25-cv-00059

Since you are paying attention, and have excellent command of the verbiage, you should have no problem reading the case documentation.

If you are not aware of the physical things that were done at the border, then you are the only living under a rock. He put up more walls, sent the military to the border, repaired the barbed wire that Biden refused to fix, and Trump allowed the border patrol to do their job. He is also having the offenders returned to Mexico. Did you know more illegals crossed the border in one month, under Biden, than the last 6 months under Trump?
he "put up more walls"? Is that like "the number" you gave me as an answer for all my questions about CA water delivery?
A grand total of 47 mile of new wall was built. You think that affects anything?

Explain your stats. How did they know how many illegals got in, if they didn't catch them?
If Trump is doing so well, why have deportation numbers dropped? And don't even TRY that bullshit that with trump in office, people are afraid to try coming across illegally.
That's the argument of a child, or a moron who believes such nonsense.

Just like you closing the gate to your yard, Trump closed the gate at the border. You enter and you get in trouble. The dems way is, "You enter, we give you free housing, food, money, healthcare, and cell phones."
HAHAHA. yeah, "closed the gate". Like there was a road that the immigrants would just walk through, and now the gate is closed, and they just don't know what to do.

Holy crap, you think like a child.
Or maybe you are as gullible as a child to believe such nonsense.

You might want to take those words back and just admit your too ignorant to understand my answers. Again, get over it. You missed it and you refuse to go back and find it because you would have to admit you were wrong.
1. if you want to call someone ignorant, at least use the correct words. It's "you're", not "your".
2. You claim you provided "the number" that answers all of my questions.
There IS no "the number" that answers them. So, you are obv. full of shit.
Terrible attempt at covering for yourself by claiming I didn't "understand" "the number". Like ThxOne, you're night bright enough to lie convincingly, and certainly not enough to get away with it.

1. "no body"? Work on your verbiage skills.
2. Funny that you say the same things about my "wife and kids" leaving me, that ThxOne says. Are you the same person, Michael? Or do you just read shit and take it as fact because you saw words?
Is that why you parrot everything Trump says? No ability to discern?

Tell me again how dual outputs are not internally bridged on an amp. I need a good chuckle. I'm hoping you will, one day, admit you don't know what bridging means and/or what a bridge is.
I'll tell you for the 1,000th time that two wires touching each other are not "bridged".
I'll tell you for the 1,000th time that a monoblock car amp cannot be bridged.
I'll tell you for the 1,000th time that it is not "bridging" when the output of a mono amp is connected to a bus bar or terminal strip.
I'll tell you for the 1,000th time that there is no mono op amp that has multiple outputs.

I'll ask you for the 1,000th time, to show me where any circuit design reference says two wires touching each other are "bridged".
I'll ask you for the 1,000th time, to show me a monoblock car amp that can be bridged.
I'll ask you for the 1,000th time, to show me a circuit diagram that indicates a mono op amp having multiple outputs.

And then 10 pages down the road in the thread, you'll start claiming you DID show me, but then refuse to provide proof that you "showed" me. Like you are doing with the CA water data.

Just like your alter-ego ThxOne, you are full of crap, and obviously can't do anything more than bullshit your way through life.

Vents? You think the passenger side is a vent. It is purely for looks. It does not pass through. Of the three I owned that was the only automatic. The other two were manual transmission cars. As were both of my Camaros, my Dodge Shadow ES, My Mazda MX-3, the 92 Mustang, the Dodge Shelby Charger GLHS #609, the 200sx, 3 different motorcycles. Indeed the 280zx was stock. Why would I take it to a track? It is not a race car. There was no "getting the car running" it ran fine. The only car I had that saw any time on the track was my 1972 Formula Firebird. 10.73 seconds in the quarter mile and would pull the front tires off the ground.

I never said that you claimed the race car was yours. I said ZX. The only ZX is the one on the lift. Or did you not know that?

Oh you think I am full of crap? Your whole rambling mess above is a bunch of statements where YOU have moved the goalpost on just about every one. Only a person "full of crap" would have to keep changing it up to attempt to be right after being proved wrong. You keep telling people THEY are wrong because YOU don't accept the answer. You are not the person who decides what is right and or wrong. You are not the keeper of all information either. You have no grounds to call bullshit on ANYONE!

It's not an assumption that somebody is incapable due to skin color. It's that DEI hiring initiatives create the possibility that the person hired was hired for a reason other than being the most qualified. In the case of pilots, standards were lowered during Obama.

Skin color, religion, gender identity, etc, should not be considered for employment. I remember a time when Dems supposedly wanted a color blind society, but when that no longer served them politically, they moved the goal posts.

You are either purposely are taking Kirk out of context or incapable of understanding the context.

Huh? The hood vents on the '77 and '78 are louvered. Mine was a '77. I replaced the hood with one from pre-1977.
You didn;t know you can take a stock car to the track? The ZCCA used to do multiple track days a year, where non-racers could go and take a class, then run their car around a track. Fun stuff.

My buddy had a real nice 76 that he spent a TON of time making into a street legal race car. He was good on back roads, but didn't know the limits, and rolled it 7 times on his second lap when he slid into the sand at Bridgehampton.
He was lucky to live and learn.

I never said that you claimed the race car was yours. I said ZX. The only ZX is the one on the lift. Or did you not know that?
Fair enough. Yeah, that was my ZX. A victim of east coast winters, the unibody turned to swiss cheese.
Traded it when I moved for an LCD movie projector, when they were stupid-expensive.
