Featured 2010 ford ranger, which door speakers???

Not today.....:cautious:
The suspense...

Got it back today...
Turn out one of the Hertz 6.5" components was DOA....
So ordered a replacement kit yesterday & came-in today.
Slammed the one speaker in the door & put the door panel back on, did the dsp tune & called it good!

The Hertz Mille Pro 3 way components turned out great with the tune, zero complaints & sound very clean.
The Hertz Mille Pros are being ran by the audio control d6-1200 dsp / amp combo & are getting 125 watts x 6
The 2 10" Hertz MPS 250 d4 subs are being powered by a Stinger T2000 mono block now pushing the 2 subs with 1500 watts at 2 ohms.
The system was already great but decided to push it further....

They didnt take a bunch of pictures, but all im really missing is the 6.5" Hertz in the door...
The full view of the amps....

Also added 1/0 big 3 & some nice battery terminals to tie it all in nicely.
Going to finish it with an XS Power AMG here shortly.

Congrats. Hertz does make speakers and it gives a little different sound signature than Focal.

Sounds good, rich, full, tweeters still tweet just fine....😁
Vocals sound great..

No-where near as bright as Focal, but also not Focal money,
But, still very costly compared to other options...

The Mille line component are considered neutral compared to the Focals.
But when you listened to Focals for so long, The Hertz sound "rich & full"
If that makes sense...

The hardest part of this entire addiction which I dont find fun, unlike some of you...
Is trying different speakers, or taking someones word for it that theyre great...

Soooooooo many brands & options, amps, components, subs, etc...
The market is saturated & they all claim to be amazing.

I dont regret the CDT's, they were cheap so not the end of the world.
Maybe they just needed more & cleaner power,
Maybe they would have sounded better if I used their crossovers vs active through the recoil.

As I stated, they didnt sound bad & it still cranked, just wanted something cleaner.
Maybe one of their mid unity drivers would have been the answer...
Wasnt willing to take the risk.

Actually able to demo the Mille Pro components, we knew what we were getting

CDT is more of a bang for your buck brand and they have so many different options from a single brand. I think if you would have bought a top of the line 3 way CDT ES set, you would have gotten similar results to what you got with the Hertz set.

I got sick of chasing drivers when I got a set of Focal Utopia midbass drivers and they were indeed awesome, but still had their flaws. Sometimes you just have to learn to be happy with you got.

When it comes to tweeters (well, likely many other drivers too, but), I will say that since incorporating the beryllium dome tweeters into my setup, unless the budget calls for it, I'll never go back to any other dome material (other than maybe accuton ceramics) for tweeters again..

The neutrality, the accuracy, and smoothness are just next level.

One of the few times I can honestly say, the buck stops here.

Though I did see someone selling a pair of the Focal Be's.... 🤪

Im sure if I was in a demo room & had the opportunity to audition some great high end tweeters, Ide notice the difference & would be a snob about it.
I could be wrong but im wondering is these Hertz tweeters are sharper / piercing than my Focal Fraks, freaks being smoother....

I was just pleasantly surprised that theyre not lacking & still seem fairly bright to me & I love bright tweeters....
Havent had a ton of seat time, but happy....
The way its tuned right now, he can crank the volume to max & its always clean from what I can tell...
Sure their will be some tweaks coming as he gets gets some seat time.
The 125 x 6, I think theres some reserve in the tank that he can get out of it...
These tuners tune on the conservative side to keep things bullet proof, atleast thats what ive noticed from my very limited experience.
He doesnt nickel & dime though, saves all his tunes, & just told us, listen to it & swing by anytime when you figure out what you want to change & we'll make some quick adjustments.
Ive done this a few time with him on my tacoma build.

Harshness is often the car/install. If the tweeters are in the a-pillar, try throwing a towel on the dash and see if that helps. another trick you can try is rolling down the window.

That's bonkers -- and duly noted. I made the mistake of trying titanium once (MB Quart?) and they gave me a headache, so I figured nothing was smoother than silk. Beryllium is now on the bucket list!

Yeah, done Titanium, titanium/aluminum, many many times.

Seas, MB Quart, Vifa, Eton, Focal, just to name a few.

The primary difference that Beryllium offers is the ability to engineer their breakup above 20k, almost impossible with silk and with other alloys.

And for the record, had I not scored a set of Infinity BeTA Be tweeters at $299 a pair on black friday last year, I probably would not have been lucky enough to try a pair myself.

Keep an eye out for Soundoftristate.com black Friday sales coming up, see what they drop the JBL or Infinity sets down to.

I'm waiting, and if the JBL or the Infinity drops to $300 or less, I'm grabbing a pair!
