Current events discussion

That movie held up amazingly well after all these years. The outfits worn date it a bit, but it actually held up much better than the followup they made.

Didn't HAL go "nuts" because it couldn't reconcile that it was having a malfunction, with the fact that it should not HAVE malfunctions?
I don't think there was a malfunction. It's was all intentional, the failure of the AI. The AI was in the ship to ensure the humans could never actually find the truth. So I don't see Hal as going nuts, it's just that Hal was designed to be that secret guiding force, unbeknownst to the space crew.

It's AMAZING that when someone argues with YOU, you demand FACTS and PROOF and if someone gives you an answer in the grey area you tell them NO!! You are wrong literally!!!! UNTIL!!!!! It comes time for you to give answers... then the grey area is perfectly acceptable and the need to be literal falls by the wayside if you think you can win the argument. Funny how you work that way. Literally and technically I have been correct all along. No matter how much you don't like it.
"Grey area"?
If there is beer in the can, and the can is in the cooler, how can the beer NOT be in the cooler?
If the nerve is in the canal, and the canal is in the bone, how can the nerve not be in the bone?

It's called "nested containment". You'll refuse to look it up, but maybe your level of intellect would understand it if I referenced Russian nesting dolls.

It doesn't actually.
I guess you didn't bother to read it when getting your "degree", huh?

Compact bone, the most common type of bone in humans, consists of cylindrical structural units called
osteons.

It can't actually because I am not wrong.

Only you are continuing to argue this.. I told you, I don't care what words YOU use and YOU sure as hell aren't my boss. I would have restructured your nose the first time you tried to talk to me in person like you do on here. Bet.
Ahhh, the "tough guy" who can't handle things with intellect and thinks he can do it with violence.
You'd fail at that, too.
Use all the $7 cables you want to send all the music you want to........ Oh that's right, you don't need any of that because your boombox doesn't have the capability to use optical. Neither does your Pioneer.
Keep trying, Mr. Stock Head Unit.
My Pioneer wouln't benefit from an optical input. It reads Hi_Res files direct from a micro thumb drive.

That's a sweet boombox. My spoiled rich friend had a similar one. Did mom and dad buy it for you along with your Atari?
I had to mow lawns and deliver newspapers so I could buy this:

I know Rob, it has nothing to do with you saying the same shit over and over and continuing to argue the same shit for years until you win by default.
Another weird deflection.
Now you say it has nothing to do with the word special... so why the **** did you mention it. Shut the **** up.
"Spending more makes you special?" -Thxone

Like I said, and it apparently pains you greatly, everything I have said is 100% correct. Why you keep going on and on is beyond me.

Rob, I already know this. Why do you insist on posting pics and information YOU don't comprehend??? Just let it go.
Ahhh, the "tough guy" who can't handle things with intellect and thinks he can do it with violence.
You'd fail at that, too.
It's has nothing to do with being a tough guy and everything to do with you being one of those people who has never had the shit knocked out of them so you think you can act any way and talk any way you like to anyone.
Keep trying, Mr. Stock Head Unit.

Why would you want an optical INPUT anyway. I have been talking about digital OUTPUTS Mr. Car stereo shop owner.

Why would you ask if my mom and dad bought it for me... it's your boombox. You even said so.

Given that you claim to have a perfect memory and forgot your post of that "special" boombox... you may want to seek medical help brother.

Simply claiming you are correct doesn't make you correct. You think too highly of your own capabilities.
Your own textbook shows you are wrong.

Please post the author's retraction and correction if you want to claim you are right.
Rob, I already know this. Why do you insist on posting pics and information YOU don't comprehend??? Just let it go.
If you already know, WHY do you still keep claiming there are no nerves in bone, compact or otherwise?
It's has nothing to do with being a tough guy and everything to do with you being one of those people who has never had the shit knocked out of them so you think you can act any way and talk any way you like to anyone.
Suggesting I have never had the shit knocked out me indicates I never lose a fight.
Thank you for the compliment, tough guy.

An output on one device must connect to an INPUT on another device.
Did you not know this?
And you think we should accept your claims that a mono amp can have multiple outputs, and that optical cable is limited to less than 192kHz.
That's pretty funny.

Why would you ask if my mom and dad bought it for me... it's your boombox. You even said so.

That's not my avatar. What is the post number and thread that it's on?
Is it?

Not my post, not my avatar. What thread and what post number did you find it in?

An output on one device must connect to an INPUT on another device.
Not unless you are using that connection so to say it must connect is misleading. Ergo, FALSE.

It's your shit.

So you can stream through the optical cable without connecting it?
Please explain this sorcery
You are like a child you know that? If you take the time to actually read, let the information rattle around your head for a minute you might see that I said "Not unless you are using that connection." Just because the connection is available Rob, doesn't mean you "must" use it.
Thread name, and post number, please.
It's your shit.

So it can't do 192kHz if you are not using the connection? No shit.
My car can't exceed the speed limit unless it is being driven over the speed limit.

But that has nothing to do with your claim that optical cable can't handle more than 96 kHz.
It's your shit.
Thread name, and post number, please.

Are you having your period? Is there a reason you are choosing to be this dumb? Do I really have to clarify this to you for a 3rd time? Apparently I do.

Your claim!!!! ----> "An output on one device must connect to an INPUT on another device." - RobGMN

Are these not your words? Is this not your claim??? Sure looks that way. Again, I made a 100% correct statement and you turn into rubber brain and start arguing. Only if you are using THAT output does it have to connect glass licker.
Thread name, and post number, please.
It's your shit.

Why use optical in a car if you can use coax? The glass in an optical is weaken and cause issues long before the copper in coax ffs

Truthfully I'd run plain ol' rcas before I ran optical in a car 😂

Also, depending on the quality of the optical it can be far less durable. Some are made with glass fibers and some from plastics. Digital Coaxial is the way to go in a car. Don't tell Rob though, he knows better than Toshiba.

You wouldn't be able to hear the difference between coax and optical anyways. At home optical is cool since it's usually fairly easy to swap a cable but who tf wants to pull seats replace a cable 🤣🤣🤣
