No, trump shouldn't tell the fed what to do, and they don't need him to do their job. Were you in a coma for four years? trump thought he could run the entire government all by himself, damn near tried to fire everyone else, and directed them to make that change.

These comments are what got me to respond to you directly. From the beginning of Trumps presidency everyone in the government worked against him. They damn near FORCED him to run the county by himself. I'd fire these people too. This was page #1 of this thread.

Really I encouraged it? I was one of the people talking to the admin on it and how to proceed as he was asking for my opinions since I've actually been a mod or admin on this software. So idk where you get that crap from that I was encouraging it that is laughable!

Putting up "YOU'RE WELCOME" is a sign you want validation for reporting a couple posts. That action was a group effort by a lot more then just a couple people. He is still active but no one can see his posts because of how much of a fool he was. Easier to do then doing an IP block chain from his area that could possibly block actual people that need help or can help with stuff here on the forum.

Also facts are those comments you put up are like the ones that got a few threads closed already. Admin has warned he will not tolerate it and will stop people from posting in the OT area if you do those sorts of comments.

I think he is referring to that guy from Hawaii that was giving out all kinds of stupid and wrong information and because he had read a book from 1998 or w/e so that was all the justification he needed to say he was right & we were all wrong.

yeah that guy. I don't actively care about that, and I think that was the first time I added one, because: It was right after this, and my comments were there quoting him, but he deleted his posts, which removed the quotes. So it looked like I was responding to the wrong thread or something. You're taking it more serious now, then I ever did.

As I said the ignore feature is effective. You can conveese with (or not converse with) members as you see fit.

Speaking from what I witnessed at CarAudioForum, the site kinda dwindled as some of the older more knowledgeable members stop posting. CAF still had a lot of knowledgeable members and you ended up with alot of really concise and accurate answers to problems, so you ended up with a post about voltage drop resolved in a few posts. The OG posters would run off the newbie idiots that didn't know what they were talking about pretty quickly. The arguments about why Dynaudio is better than Hertz went away, etc. So if google is looking for post counts, then the site will obviously get slower and slower and google will recommend it less, which kills post count. I don't know how you reverse that trend.

I do check the audio threads, but if it's an SPL question, then I bow out and let those more knowledgeable than me answer. If somebody else has already provided a good answer, then I don't feel the need to reply. I guess we can all start replying to audio threads even if it adds little to no value to the discussion in an attempt to push us up the google search. But I doubt we'll ever overtake Reddit, Quora or Diyma. Even if we can get that #4 position, that's still the 4th position. I also wonder how many people who already have a Reddit or Quora profile just do a search Reddit search, in which case we never had a chance.

IMO, this site lacks the depth of long time sound people. I mean, people were allowed to run around and be crazy and of course social media hurt all forums. But people who have careers in sound aren't gonna put up with a bunch of trolls, you know? I'm not very capable as a person due to my health, but I was/am actually in the audio industry. I was designing boxes for DD and designing boxes for builders who charge $1,000's for their boxes, I've been offered by some audio companies where I can design preloaded enclosures and have my builder build them and we can sell some major brands in prefabs, if I wasn't sick.

I'm saying that to say people who are in the industry aren't going to put up with certain things. The problem isn't necessarily the dome, if you mean traffic, it's people running off the deep sound people, so this site is a lot of surface knowledge, which is good and has its place, because everyone has to start somewhere, but this site doesn't go much beyond that. I've tried to bring some in depth audio knowledge discussion here, but I've been so attacked outside of the dome that the struggle is real. It's not bad right now, but for years it was horrible man. Horrible stuff said in people's threads where people were trying to help others, and out of control people came out of the dome and attacked people no matter where they went about stuff that has nothing to do with audio, and idk who's to blame for that.

I remember those days. CAF used to get alot more traffic than DIYMA too. DIYMA did get the benefit of most of the ECA crowd adopting DIYMA as their new home when ECA died. I'm not sure what the answer is and I'm not sure how political threads do or don't affect other traffic. Can you limit posts in the Thunderdome? Is there a way to make posts in the Thunderdome contingent upon posting outside the Thunderdome - ie one post in the Thunderdome per post outside the Thunderdome?

DIYMA is busy because they have mods that have powers and can stop a lot of nonsense that happens. DIYMA also has people that are constantly selling there daily. Thousands of dollars of products are sold sometimes in a day there through private transactions. DIYMA just has a lot more to offer overall right now across the board.

CAF that place is nothing more then a warzone especially in the OT. The owner is a known Trumper which is fine and all but if you have a differing opinion forget it. The wolves attack you from all corners and it is pretty much a free for all there. I want nothing to do with a place where it is like that.

Here it isn't as busy because over the years a lot of the members have left because of getting out of car audio, moving on to DIYMA or some other reason.

One reason why some members have left is because the ones that have the title "Moderator" have no powers at all to do anything. That was a complaint from one of the mods a few times here in OT around 2-3 years ago. They just gave it up. Hell it didn't help matters that a certain member named Slo claimed the site as his own, would run off new members, constantly instigate people if he didn't like their name, posts or questions, he posted ****** **** in the one thread multiple times. He knew he could get away with what he wanted so he did. Thankfully he left 2 years ago and hasn't been back and hopefully never will. But he did a lot of hurt here.
