Why would you defend Biden on the border then? Do you want Biden to be a better Republican on the border? Are you actually saying that Trump was a better liberal on border policy? Do you actually have any beliefs that matter when you vote, or are all your beliefs BS just to support your elitist political religion? Your core beliefs are apparently nonexistent, which makes your collection of “facts” essentially as useless as the Bible.
I believe that if facts and stats are going to be used to evaluate one person (POTUS, in this case), then they should be used equally to evaluate all of them.
If you consider using facts and figures to evaluate a POTUS (instead of feelings and beliefs) as "elitist political religion", so be it.
When you do your taxes, just complete the form based on your feelings and beliefs. When you pay your credit card bill, pay what you feel you should pay. When you fill up your tank, give them what you feel is a fair price. See how it works our for you. At least you won't be "elitist".
Here are some facts and stats.
*The POTUS doesn't control the stock market, but every Trump Thumpers talk about "record stock market" under Trump. Well, it's better under Biden. Give credit to Trump? Then give credit to Biden.
*People talk about "Tough border policy" under Trump. Well, the numbers prove Biden is tougher.
*People say "Biden raised gas prices by making Russia go to war". Well, Trump actually made a move to try to directly force gas prices up when he demanded Saudi cut production in 2020.
*People claim the Democrats are here to take our guns. Gun laws actually relaxed under Obama, got stricter under Trump, and have done nothing under Biden. But Trump is Pro-2A.
*Trump claimed the "greatest economy in history". One factor in the economy is wages. From 2017-2020, wages went up ~10% in those 3 years (I'm ignoring 2021 due to pandemic in 2020, even though there was still some growth). Wages grew ~9% in Biden's FIRST year.
Another factor is GDP. The highest increase in GDP under Trump was 5+%. Under Biden, it has been 10+%. Yes, the pandemic affects that, but the GDP "only" declined 2+% from the pandemic. If we factor that in to growth under Biden, his GDP growth of 8% is better than Trump's.
*People say the Democrats are trying to take away the right to free speech b/c privately-owned websites are censoring members, yet Republicans want to ban books from PUBLIC libraries, and Trump wanted to make private website owners liable for damages based on what people posted on the website (thereby FORCING the owners to censor people in order to protect themselves from lawsuits).
*People say Trump was tough on crime. But we saw the highest crime rates we have seen since 2010 during his admin. Crime has dropped since Biden took office.
This is the type of stuff people should be considering when evaluating a POTUS. Not hype. Not false claims. Not feelings or personal beliefs. Not Facebook/Twatter/Instagram/TruthSocial/CarAudioForum, et al. Look at facts, statistics, empirical evidence, historical data, and THEN make a decision.
But, that seems far too much work. It's a lot easier to believe "
I will build a wall, and Mexico will pay for it" than "
while I was in office, illegal immigration attempts rose 1,320% but apprehensions only went up 50%. The growth rate of attempts has greatly declined under Biden, but apprehensions have still gone up dramatically". It's easy to believe "
I will fix the healthcare system" when you WANT to believe it, even when spoken by a man who bankrupts a CASINO (OK, three. But one was tits-up after its first year in business).
Facts often get in the way of a narrative. And feelings. And beliefs.
