Tweeters Playing Very Low Frequencies (120HZ+)

Just installed the following in my car:
1999 Toyota 4Runner SR5
Speakers: Sony XS 162ES
Head Unit: Sony XAV-AX4000
Amp: JBL Club A754
Wiring: Brand new 14 gauge

Issue: Low frequencies coming through tweeter
(starting at about 120 HZ). Completed multiple trouble shooting steps and still no dice. Tried a different amp, bypassed head unit (AUX to RCA played through amp) and different wiring just for fun. Crossover and jumper is hooked up correctly. (I'm using a test tone from 20 to 20K HZ btw).

The crazy part is I moved the whole setup (sub, tweeter and crossover) to play off my Denon receiver in my home system and it works just fine. Tweeter doesn't start to play until around 1400 HZ.

Is there anything I'm missing? Thank you in advance!

Are you using the included passive crossovers?

Is the headunit set to the correct crossover?

Or the amp?

The factory box crossover is set at 3500hz so I assume you are running active and are somehow crossing the tweeters without the passive crossover boxes.

And just because it's crossed over doesnt mean it won't get any power down in the lower frequencies but rather it will be cut significantly to the point that the tweeter is usually inaudible at those frequencies. A 20w home audio setup might not be powerful enough to be audible at lower frequency but the 75w going to the single tweeter might be if you keep turning it up trying to fine audible sound.

There is no mid crossover. Shouldn’t be a grounding out issue, everything is really neat. New wire run too.

I am using passive not active crossovers. No crossover point on head unit or amp being used.

Also my home system puts out near 75w as well so that should rule out the audible possibility.

So both head unit and amp settings are set to “full range/thru” ?

Amp yes, head unit doesn’t have those options. Here’s how it all looks:

The passive x-over inputs are wrong. Put the inputs on the woofer, then run a jumper to the tweeter. Pos to pos, neg to neg.

there is already a jumper on the input of the x-over. But still switched it and no change.

do keep in mind this whole set up worked just fine on my home system.

Make sure you aren't hooking up the tweeter to either the full range input or the mid/woofer output. I can't think of a reason the crossover would work properly on a home receiver and not in the car...
