So you're saying DLM approves drilling for lands without application? I can tell you're wrong on that one. Exxon, et al have to send out geologists, ecologist, archeologists, etc to survey any land they'd like to drill on and submit appropriate reports/paperwork to get approval. DLM is just approving drilling on miscellaneous parcels of land and even if they did, Exxon isn't going to drill on land they researched and believe there is oil to be found.

Funny thing about gas prices.... Trump inherited historically low gas prices from Obama. For some reason people seem to forget who was in office from 2014 - 16 as prices steadily dropped. Something else that gets conveniently forgotten is what gas prices did Trump's first 2 years in office; they steadily climbed. Also frequently left out of the "Biden is driving up gas prices" narrative is what gas prices did when Biden took office; they dropped. Somehow retail gas prices actually went lower than when Trump was in office and Trump had a ~week of negative wholesale oil prices. Gas prices remained within or lower than the "Trump range" until 8/21. Despite any evidence to support their narrative people continue to blame Biden. Shutting down oil fields; didn't happen, the courts reversed Biden. Lack of new permits; didn't happen Biden's administration is outpacing the Trump administration in this area. Lack of drilling; nope that's up too. Lack of production; production has been steadily climbing since 9/2020.

If gas is back in the $2-2.50 range come Nov/24, do you think Biden will get any credit?

Permits and leases are two different things as well. Either way, Biden said he was going to stop drilling so why say they are doing more and why if we are "drilling more" are we not refining our own oil and lowering prices here in America?
