He doesn't have to tell them he shot 3 people. The police should have been able to see that he just shot 2 people and even if they didn't see it, the crowd was telling them "dude just shot somebody."
Here's Rittenhouse getting clocked with the rock you claimed didn't exist. He shoots 2 men in front of the police, the police acknowledge they have injured people straight ahead, yet choose to ignore the shooter. You can clearly hear the crowd yelling at the police that "That dude just shot somebody." You can even hear (presumably) the police respond "Him?" and the man in the crowd confirms it. If those people on the corner could see that Rittenhouse was the shooter, I'm not sure why the police didn't. I don't know why the police chose to assist the shooting victims and ignore the shooter. Why the police didn't arrest the guy trying to turn himself is beyond me, but that is clearly on the police regardless of what Rittenhouse did or didn't say to them. The police were maybe 200 yards from the shooting and had witnesses telling them who the shooter was. Complete failure on the part of the police. TBH, I generally support the police, but those cops should be fired. They literally had a shooting occur ~200yrds away, the shooter approached them to turn himself in. Hell I'm sure at that point Kyle would probably have loved the back of a squad car compared to the streets.
Why you think he should have hung around after what just happened surrounded by a hostile armed crowd with gunfire going off is beyond human comprehension. I could show this video to my 9 year old and he'd conclude "yeah, that dude needs to GTFO." His presence could only result in more death and violence. You want a higher body count?
The police claim to have sprayed Rittenhouse with pepper spray and one copy had his gun drawn. Looks to me like they didn't want to hear whatever it was he had to say.
The officers had been criticized for how they treated Rittenhouse after the fatal shooting
