Police not being there is why he was there otherwise he would not need to be there. I gave you the reason the police weren't there in the numbers they should have been there with.

It's my post, I can say it means whatever I want. I don't care how much you want to be the forum police chief... you can't control other people or what they say or what they think. Why would Rittenhouse call the police? What fantasy world do you live in? Does it take a lot drugs to get there? Do you believe that the police would have hunted down Rosenbaum in the middle of a riot, maybe charge him with verbal assault.

Doesn't mean the police were actually defunded by August. Technically, "they" have been talking about defund/abolish the police since the 60s.

TBH, it doesn't matter if the police were defunded, not defunded or even receiving excess Covid funds. The PD wasn't engaging rioters. It's hard to fault them: if they arrested, shot or detained a black man that would have only escalated the rioting. Why risk your life, career and potential murder charges if you don't have to???

Why didn't Rittenhouse protect them? Isn't that why he was there? I get it. He didn't protect any businesses and killed two people instead. That's pretty good security. No businesses saved and two people dead. One because of a plastic bag and one because of a skateboard. Now it makes perfect sense.

Context matters. I'd never shoot somebody over a skateboard... unless they were using that skateboard to hit me in the back of the head. In Rittenhouse's shoes, Bobby would have just have held his hands up asked "guys please stop" while being pummeled with a skateboard, with guy trying to stomp his head, with the crowd yelling "get him," with guns present, surrounded by a hostile crowd. Bobby probably would have suffered serious head injuries if not death that night, but at least he'd have his principles.

Funny how he can see how the Jan 6 rioters presented a clear and present danger to Pelosi, AOC, Pence, etc, but can't see it when a guy is actually being physically assaulted by numerous people in the middle of riot that he's on the wrong side of. I get party loyalty, I get not liking Rittenhouse (I don't care for him either).

Since Bobby expects us to believe he wouldn't responded with deadly force in that situation, I assume Bobby believes he wouldn't responded with deadly force. Kudos to Bobby for being willing to sacrifice his life for his principles. Most of us, including the 12 jurors, would have responded as Kyle did. Personally, I think it would be foolish not to defend one's self, but maybe I just lack conviction. I do consider myself more of a pragmatic person than a principled person.

In this particular case I don't think it matters much; ie if Milwaukee had instead increased the police force by 60 officers, there still would have been a shyt show in Kenosha and Rittenhouse still may have felt compelled to play "boy cop." Nevertheless the police were indeed being defunded.

Which brings up another interesting point. We can see this defund the police shyt clearly isn't working. So why don't Dems just admit, "hey this isn't working like we thought, let's get more police out there, get crime under control, etc." Instead they're letting the GOP seize that as part of their platform. Politics is a strange beast and nobody appears capable of using common sense.
