Switching From 8's to 10's

Ive never metered legally. I had a handheld that would go into Error at 140?? Ill be happy to hit a 150 my first Reading that I hope to try by next summer.

I've already wasted my rear view mirror and overhead console.

Do you mean for 8's or 10's? The higher I go the narrower the top of the box gets. Diminishing returns. Do you not think 4 - 10's on a 5K is an improvement. That is 57% more cone area than 4 - 8's and 120 more ounces of motor force. 3,200 watts rms compared to 2,400 watts rms right now. And a 42% increase in power if zi switch to a 5K
Hmm...I was talking about the extra 8s. Its a sacrifice that needs to be made for the space needed. I was happy to drive that 4 speed and shifting gears with the side of my foot rather than straight on just so I could have the Bass. You can always do an Inverted wedge like I did but maybe aero port each enclosure on top?? And still have the room in between for your Rear View Mirror that may be needed by Law?
In TX as long as you have your two door mirrors outside on ea door You are legal, and do not need rear view, You can Plastdip, paint .seal off rear window and not get a ticket

Inverted wedge? How am I going to get 7.7" of mounting depth with an inverted wedge? I want my stock bench seat to remain intact. My rear view mirror broke in two pieces due to the pressure. My overhead console broke in pieces due to the pressure. I can't get enough airspace for 8 - 8's. I can barely get enough for 4 - 10's.

Im sure 4 tens would get you closer to the 150 you are looking for/doable, Cone area generally rules.IMO. Ive only ran a pair of 8s and nothing more than that. I have ran 4 tens in my Xcab. One set were the Audiobahn AW1008Ts and the other were the first generation XFLs. Enclosure was 2.06 per chamber. I wanted individual chambers in case I blew a sub I could still wire up what I had and keep playing.I still have that enclosure. Later cut out for some 12s. I still have all the tens and a few others

Hmmm. May have to just try the baffle and do 4 tens and move your seat up 1.5-2 inches when you go full tilt?? I would look at the A.Bass Elite series also.Pretty damned good subs that get down too

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: 💩 I had to remove my overhead..I had take my rear view off. Serves no purpose at this time.My entire rear is Plastidipped inside windows, 4 layers of 80 mill,2" Foam board, framed up 2x4s and 1 layer of 3/4 Plywood atm. Will do another layer later to finish up a wall build out on the Xcab. rear windows are screwed shut also. I need do more roof treatment. 4 layers 80 mill, and screwed back up overhead serves no justice

I will go with this new box for 4 - 10's. That is a big behind the seat box in a standard cab.

If you sit in my truck you wouldn't even know that I have a system. Seats back and all the speakers are in stock locations.
