Solid 1500w Mono Amp Suggestions

I want to move up in power to a 1500-2000w amp. I just ordered a 225 amp alternator for the jeep and scored some 2/0 gauge wire today as well. Sorry for being a cheap a$$ but the budget is tight while building everything else in the Jeep. Would like a good solid budget suggestion. Looking for 1 ohm stable and it will be a sub amp. I was kind of leaning towards taramps but have heard good things about cab as well. Thanks

Yeah its very close to the bass knob that Sundown uses on their SIA line. SIA one is a little smaller on the housing but it wouldn't shock me in the least that the internals are the same. As the Cab models are made in the same build house as the SIA line. Just half-bridge is all as you know.

I'm in the same boat for when I pick out my sub amp, and I'm bouncing around the Taras, SD and NVX. From the reviews they are consistently good and the testing vids I saw were always on par.
IF you can find one open box or used, the Alpine PDX m12 is an option. I've run two PDX series in both full range and for a sub and they ran cool as a cucumber even on 6 hour road trips, no weird voltage drops or hums. I welded a stud near the amps for the ground and all my body to frame grounding straps had been upgraded and I used dielectric grease.

Bestbuy was having a close out sale and I scored something like 100 ft of 4/0 monster wire, bare wire measures at around 3/4" and I sold half of it and used that profit to pay for the rest of the wire monster 12g monster wire and 6 sets of twisted pair RCA cables.

Good luck w/ the jeep build. What else are you modding? Upgraded axle shafts, locker?

It currently has Yukon chrome moly axles front and back, 8.8 rear, 35's, Detroit full lockers etc. I'm in the middle of a v8 swap and swapping to 1 ton super duty axles and 37's.

I just watched some dyno footage and read reviews on the MD 1800. Am I watching and reading correctly that it will produce almost 3000 watts? Their website says 1800 at 1 ohm at 12.6v, I'm confused where it will be lol.

On a dyno sure. All amps will produce higher wattage using a sine wave with resistors as a load.

Same as the Orion HCCA SPLX doing stupid high numbers on the dyno but average in real life.

I had two Skar amps (4ch & a monoblock) go bad within a year. Post #2 is an excellent recommendation.

I get it. I'd never run a tone through at full tilt to test just how much they can take before it goes all willie nelson either 🤣
