Instead of posting articles that you cut and pasted from google, how about you try to articulate your counter arguments using your own thoughts and words?
If you repeat data in your own words here, people like Thx and Sluggo simply say you’re making it up. Thx’s key phrase is “democratic propaganda”. He thinks it make him seem intelligent, but doesn’t seem to know he’s using the wrong word. Ironic failure.
If I manually re-typed all the economic data, would you consider it more valid?
Does the fact that the info is already collated and turned into a readable format make it less legitimate?
How is this for some of my own math:
From 4/2021-10/2021 wages had ~5% growth. During that same period, inflation had 4% growth.
The lowest-income families pay out about 80% of their income to COL.
For the sake of argument, lets use a base of $10,000 annual income. That means $8,000 is paid out in COL, leaving $2,000.
Assuming no argument with that math, an increase of 5% in income gives an annual income of $10,500. An increase of 4% in COL brings it to $8,320.
$10,500 minus $8,320 leaves $2,180.
Now I may be wrong, but is $2,180 a larger sum than $2,000?
Now lets assume closer to middle-income families, where COL as a % of income is more like 60%.
$100,000 a year minus $60,000 leaves us $40,000
Assuming no argument, a 5% increase in income brings us to $105,000. A 4% increase in COL brings us to $62,400. $105,000 minus $62,400 leaves us $42,600.
Is $42,600 a greater sum than $40,000?
And for Slugbutter who accuses me of "cherry picking numbers": When I refer to all the metrics used to determine the state of our economy, it's about as far from "cherry picking" as you can get. It's precisely why I refer to them, instead of being like Thx and picking out one single value to complain about, while ignoring other values that more than offset it.
Like I've tried to make clear: I don;t consider my personal experiences to represent what EVERYONE experiences. I did 3 hours of snow removal today. I doubt Thx saw a single flake. HE however, thinks that no one else is seeing more income that offsets the gas going up a few cents, because HE isn't seeing any. The "big picture" of that single metric that he uses is only HIS big picture, not EVERYONE'S.
