This is a question for all you big speaker, high power system guys...
So, the wife is hounding me to buy a commuter car. We have a friend at a Lexus dealership. If I buy a commuter car, I'm going to put something in it, and if it's going to be basically just me rolling in it, I can do whatever I want.
The plan is....
V6 for sure.
Take out the back seat, subs firing forward, seal off the trunk.
If you HAD to buy a Toyota, or Lexus, any make, any year, specifically for a trunk build (no walls), which one would you get for a "big" system.
I don't know a damn thing about any Toyota cars, so anyone out there with insight into ease of installation, alternator availability, trunk size.... whatever.... let me know please.

I'd buy a hatchback 😆 2003 Hyundai tiburon with an 18 jammed in there was great.

If it's any help I had to replace an alternator on a friend's 2012 Honda accord v6 and I had to remove a handful of other parts and loosen the coolant reservoir just to reach the thing as they like to mount them on the bottom of the motor. In my experience a lot of foreign cars are like this.

Do you want a sedan? 2 door? I'd take a Lexus or Acura, over a Honda just for luxury sake 🤷‍♂️ unless you use the money you save for more bass. 😁

New or used? Why not a hatch? With the seats down you can get 12+ cubes no wall in most hatches.

For a commuter car go 4 banger.
New or used. I've got about $20,000 to spend, so I was assuming used.
Hatch would be cool. I didn't think about that.
And I was saying v6 just because, without doing any actual research, I assumed I could get a more powerful alternator for it.i don't need a gas saver. The commute is tops 20 minutes tops.
At the risk of making this too long, my wife is wanting me to get a commuter because she doesn't want anything to happen to my truck after I've put over $10,000 of audio equipment into it. Yes, this will become a vicious cycle, I'm sure, but I'm buying a commuter car, and putting a huge stereo in that after I'm done with my truck🤣

A family friend works at a Lexus/ Toyota dealership. If it was up to me, I wouldn't buy anything else lol. But she's being insistent.
I have about 20 grand to spend, so it is what it is.
Sedan, 2 door, hatchback... doesn't matter

So are you limited to what's on his lot? or would he be able to track down something per your request.

Also, interesting combo since lexus is made by toyota.

It is isn't it 🤣 I'm an idiot. I meant Lexus/ Toyota. I'm a tard for that one. Holy crap. They all look the same.
Let me go edit the original post.
But yeah, sort of limited to what's on his lot. I just was hoping to get a leg up on what vehicle would be a good one for audio. He could most likely track something down as well if I had a specific request.

I hereby revoke my Civic recommendation :ROFLMAO: I will now look at toyota models

Oooo I've always wondered what the acoustics of a prius sound like ;)

Can you do a tacoma blowthrough :)

The corolla hatchback looks like it could function as a 2 seater if you just fill the rest of it with woofers.
I'd start poking around and see which models you can even get H.O. alts for.
I think the new corollas are 3 cylinders . . .
But they're making a "gr" which is turbo charged lol.

Oh okay gotcha. I personally would look at the Corolla hatch or Lexus IS 250

That's the main thing is what electrical upgrades can I do to it, and how much space do I have to play with. Assuming I'm going to switch over to Lithium, and have to bypass some stupid charging system crap, really that's the only things I'm worried about.
