Nice, I built a similar style box for 1 12" sa-v2 and I bought some blue keda dye I'm gonna stain it with

Stained the box and it came out…OK. This is what happens when you use budget pine that isn’t cabinet grade wood. Had to fill a lot of gaps on the kerf with glue and saw dust because cheap wood has hollow spots in the center. Glue doesn’t stain well and is visible.

That stack fab kerf-like port is too cool and is gonna pressurize too well for imperfections to matter, IMO. That curve looks so smooth, I like it. I can't imagine how long that might have taken, haha.

It took 2 hours to make the stack. Once the first couple are made it goes pretty quick.

I’m not really looking for a machine that can cut the whole box. I don’t mind the table saw to cut the panels, and I’m pretty accurate with it. The circle cutter for my plunge router works fine. I would just do the harder stuff with the cnc

Didn’t want to do a whole build log, but this is the exact same design made with the exact same wood for 2 Skar SDR subs. He said he wants to move to Skar evl subs later so I did it solid enough for him to upgrade later. Second attempt at gluing these stack kerfs together without glue stains in the wood. It came came out better. Just a couple of spots. You have to sand the shot out of this stuff, but it works for a cheap build.

slug are you using 7 ply birch, 13 ply, or ? I’ve never used anything but 13 ply and was afraid to try anything else. If you are using the 7 ply or something else how is it to work with and strength wise?

This is just cheap pine. It works fine on strength but has alot of rough patches on the finish side. Cheap 1/16 inch veneer that sands through very easily. Scratched all to hell. I haven’t had a nice 13 ply birch build for quite a long time. Everyone’s cheap and I’ve been working a lot so I havent promoted myself on purpose.
