Late 90’s/2000’s rap, what tuning?

It's really how you want it to sound, how low/high do you want it to play, how peaky at what frequency you want it to be. Lil john has some songs with some low notes in it. I think it's still about what you'd use today, sound is sound, bass is still bass, you know? Unless you want way more punchy bass like some old school hip hop had.

I remember my brother had a prefab truck box back in early 90’s and I love it. Played same songs from then like The D.O.C. (Let the bass go) and doesn’t hit the same with my current 34hz box

Pair of 10w3v2 in a box a guy designed for me years ago on here RAMM designs I believe? Powering them with a Zapco st1650xmII does pretty good for 10's in a SUV.

I got a pair of 10" Dayton HO subs that should be here tomorrow and those are going in my truck, gonna try a down fire center console with port firing towards the dash, Hoping this turns out well.

Nice! I actually just got some box plans from Buck. They are for a pair of Dayton ho 10’s as well. Subs between bucket seats with port firing to wall behind drivers seat.

Looking to put a system in one of my vehicles. Looking to play mostly r&b, rap from late 90’s/2000’s. What tuning should I go for? Lil John, geto boys, too short, etc
You're supposed to tune your box around your subs' specs. That said, if you can tune around 40hz you probably won't miss much material in that sort of music.
