I need help to build a custom box, I'm not sure on wat size to make my box to get the best use out of my subs... I have 2 audiopipe TXX-BDC2-12 an 2 boss ar2000m amps. Each sub on it's own amp. I'm goin to put them in a 2010 Dodge journey.. my plan is to make 2 separate boxes (easier to move around when space is needed) an leaningmore towards a sealed box. The box they are in has currently been blown apart an has to much damage to continue. I bought 3/4 mdf. I'm past budget already an dont wanna waste product. Attached are specs. Recommended sealed box is 1.5 to 2.0 cu. ft.

If your going sealed the only use the parameters are to you is getting data on how the sub will react in the enclosure. If I were you I'd just build a box that has a gross volume of 2 cubes. The displacement of the sub will end up netting you 1.85 cubes. Put 2 pounds of polyfill in and boom your done. Example that won't work but will give you an idea of what you need to do: 12x12x24 would equal 2 cubes gross. Those are internal so you would need to add in your walls to get your actual dimensions

Thanks for your answer was starting to think no one was gonna comment... so after further thought I think I'm gonna actually do port.. it's a lot easier on the subs an is actually louder. That makes it even more questionable for me. Would you happen to kno wat dimensions I should use? I kno for sure I want them to walled apart. The recommended volume for that per sub is 3 to 3.5. Where would I want to port them and how? The other question I have is should I double the walls or just have my front baffle an jus run some support beam inside?

for those subs on that power, you dont need to double baffle. Just brace the inside with wooden dowels. You want those subs to be on the same plane and similar direction with the port firing back towards the hatch. If you have subs firing in different spots you'll run into cancellation and its gonna be a mess or worse... no bass at all because its all cancelled out.

Yea im already kinda having that problem. For some reason no matter what I've tried i cant seem to get them to hit their full frequency area it's kinda annoying... would u happen to kno wat wat measurements I should use to build the box and port?

Sub up, port back or sub back port back direction both shared chambers aeroported or sonotube. Use torres box calculator and make sure your port area per foot is above 9. If you want real results you'll want to find a free copy of bass box pro somewhere on the internet and learn how to use it to properly design a box based on the ts parameters and vehicle acoustics.

Winisd is a free modeling program but only designs based on the subs ts parameters not vehicle acoustics.

I'm a little late to respond here, my bad. The only way to model/build anything but a basic sealed enclosure is to use modeling software. I've seen plenty of subs that run out of Xmax well before the advertised rms even in the recommend volume and tuning. In short you need to run then numbers and see whats best/ what will actually work if you want to have good results. Im down to model something for you no charge just give me you're max usable dimensions and a few days
