Subwoofer Size and Air space

The 10 inch subs I am looking to put in my 02 chevy ext cab call for .8 ft3 of air volume when the box only has .7-.75. Is it ok to still run it or should I downsize to 8s?

I did but I found a box with more cubic air space

Only downside is its up firing

I honestly prefer an upfire than a downfire. With the df it seems like the bass comes out muffled. The crispness of the Metallica double kickdrums loses impact and the bassline of Les Claypool becomes one long warble. But it may be just my imagination. I usually have my seat up for my favorite passengers, subs and amps.
